Synopsis
6
This spreadsheet presents key data on Palestinian towns and villages depopulated by Zionist forces and the Israeli military during the Nakba (roughly 1947-52) and Naksa (1967). It includes geographic coordinates, population data and information on the present status of its original site (whether or not it has been built over). The data is based on Zochrot's database on depopulated villages, used on their website and in the iNakba app. The Zochrot database itself is based on various sources - including extensive research on the Beersheba district by Salman Abu Sitta - as well as original research.

Notes
9
1. This is not the most complete list of depopulated Palestinian localities. It was selected for the fact that it includes detailed information on the present status of each locality.
10
2. A handful of gaps in the original Zochrot data set have been filled through research by Visualizing Palestine.
11
3. The data includes localities depopulated in the Nakba period (roughly 1947-52) and in the Naksa (1967). It does not include localities depopulated prior to the Nakba, between wars or since 1967.
12
4. The data does not include the 26 Jewish localities depopulated at the time of the Nakba or the 194 Syrian localities depopulated at the time of Naksa and afterwards.
13
5. Since the locations of many depopulated Palestinian Bedouin localities in the Beersheba district are not known to a precise degree of accuracy, it cannot be verified whether their original built area has been built over. However, since the Beersheba district is by far the most sparsely populated in present day Israel, the localities in this district with 'No Data' are grouped with those that have not been built over on the Summary tab.
