This document describes the downloadable data available in Ascend Network reports, in academic year 2021 - 2022. Each variable in the data is accompanied by a description or survey item text, along with a description of possible response options. The downloadable data in your Network report is identical to the data in the report itself, just put into tabular format for ease of conducting your own summaries and analyses.

As such, all data are presented as community-level summaries, which means the data are aggregated to the level of each community present in your Network report. As with all Ascend reports, summaries of fewer than five individual students are hidden. For details on how numbers are calculated in reports, visit our help page. For more information on the measures themselves, visit perts.net/ascend/measures. Measures were developed with the College Transition Collaborative, and with the broader community of the Student Experience Project.

6
community_nameName of the Elevate community in which the data in a given row were collected.Open text — the values will correspond the communities in your Elevate network.
7
subset_valueName of the student subset represented in a given row of data.Possible values include two gender categories (Boy/Man, Girl/Woman), two race categories (Race Struct. Disadv., Race Struct. Adv.) and two levels of financial stress (High Fin. Str., Low Fin. Str. which stand for high and low financial stress, respectively), and All, which stands for all students who took the survey. See Help Page for details.
8
n_maxNumber of students present in the community and student subset, whose data is shown in the row. Values include positive integers. The "max" indicates the largest number of students in the community and student subset who completed any single question in the survey. This value may differ slightly from the total number of responses in rare cases where students skip large numbers of survey questions.
