2/23/2016 11:01:16Kent (Throck)46895This was a very nice looking short, box-pressed cigar with a maguro wrapper. There was a single cap, but beautifully rolled with nice pliability. 90Pleasant charred notes were prominent with a backdrop of leather. Very consistent and quite potent.95MediumMedium-FullThe first third was quite an explosion of deep flavors of earth notes and leather. It had a nicotine kick which lasted the duration of the smoke. 92.5MediumMediumThe potency of the cigar diminished slightly, but the leather persevered. It was very enjoyable, but slightly less complex.90MediumMediumThe final third did not stray far away from the second third. It was predominately leather but less of a nicotine kick.95It was a near perfect draw that did not waver at all.92.5A beautiful burn that would hold its ash for 1.5 inches. Great smoke production as well.90Slight cracking during the smoke, but overall, it was an amazing construction.95This was a wonderful little stick. It had a lot of punch in the first third and this persisted with a little less flavor, but still pleasant. I will be stocking up on these soon.44

2/25/2016 0:02:24Stefan (Stefan)46887.5Wrapper is just a tad rustic looking, mostly due to some protruding veins. The box-pressing job is quite good.87.5Aromas of sweet wood, leather, and sawdust.87.5Medium-StrongLight-MediumIt initially exhibits notes of damp wood backed by stemmy tannins and hints of dry fruits. Then toward the end of the first it introduces bitter cocoa flavors accompanied by some harshness.87.5Medium-StrongMediumThe second third resembles the first, exhibiting mild notes of damp wood and stemmy tannins, as well as spices (including red pepper and nutmeg) and a touch of cream. The smoke then becomes increasingly drying to the palate as the burnline approaches the final third.82.5StrongLightDuring the final third strength increases to full as the body becomes harsh while exhibiting a note faintly resembling gasoline. I only had a few puffs and then put it out.90Very good draw though a 9mm hole.95Burn was slow and steady, allowing for breaks of up to 5 minutes.92.5Construction proved to be quite excellent.85A smoke that was very decent during the first two thirds, but unfortunately the final third was not worth pursuing.56

2/27/2016 7:34:11Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)46887.5This was an intriguing looking cigar. Was a shorter vitola with a bigger ring gauge. The cigar was a softer brown and had a couple loose or missing pieces of wrapper. There were a few visible veins, but a good overall look. 90There was a nice rich deep pepper coming off of the wrapper and near the foot. The cold draw was smooth with a firewood finish.90Medium-StrongMedium-FullThis cigar strawberry medium to strong, but the strength was not overpowering just very rich in flavor. There were black pepper notes that were intertwining with a nice cedar and slight toasted nut. There was an adequate amount of smoke coming off of the cigar and the retrohale was very crisp.92.5Medium-StrongMedium-FullThe second third was much more of the same. The strength still held medium to strong and the overall complexity and body were almost near the full side. The cedar wood and pepper profile remain in the forefront with a continuously crisp and not too overpowering retrohale.87.5Medium-StrongMedium-FullThe final third diminishes slightly. Much more pepper and heat are coming off of the cigar. There is also a slight char beginning to form, which is affecting the overall flavor. The finish to the cigar putters out significantly. 90There was a very good clean draw on this cigar. I used a straight cut at a slight angle and it seemed to give off a fair amount of smoke and a good amount of flavor from the cigar.87.5The burn was nothing to be overly excited about, but nothing to be overly worried about. There were a few runs and canoes that were forming during the first and second third of the cigar, but a slight touch up kept the cigar in check. 87.5The construction wasn't bad on this cigar, but could have used a little bit more detail. There were some bits of rapper that were peeling off or had already fallen off, so from the beginning that was easily noted as needing improvement.90For a smaller vitola this was an absolute power house of flavor and strength. It was still a quick smoke, but gave enough during the first and second third to intrigue you. There was a good flavor profile and consistency throughout, which left me wanting to try more. I do recommend grabbing a few of these letting them age for a little while and then enjoying when the time comes to have a fuller bodied cigar.42

2/29/2016 7:03:05Gregg (McGreggor57)46887.5I love the size and shape of this short box press. The cap, however, is a bit sloppy with some extra folds and wrinkles on the underside wrapper.90Mild hay with a touch of barnyard at the foot. The cold draw has a root vegetable taste along the lines of carrot.90MediumMediumA nice peppery vegetal note starts this cigar. A good bit of spice is noticeable throughout on the retrohale. As the third progresses some cedar and hardwood develops bringing the flavors together.90MediumMediumAlthough pepper is still present the intensity is decreasing. Cedar and light coffee round out the bulk of the profile while some florals find their way into the background. The balance is pretty good. 87.5MediumMediumMore of the same. Cedar and light coffee with a bit of spice remaining on the nose. Without the floral finish, I'm left with a little harshness near the end.95The draw was spot on.90Although the burnline wavered a bit, it also self corrected. Lots of smoke production from this one as well. 90Despite a sloppy cap there were no wrapper issues during the smoke. A well rolled cigar.90I rounded this score up. Shorter cigars have less time to establish their flavors but this one came out strong and well balanced. Pepper and vegetal tones gave way to cedar, light coffee and floral notes. Although there was a bit of harshness near the end I found the shorter smoking time enjoyable with the flavors presented. 30

3/14/2016 17:02:58Wes (SosaCub4Life)46895Nice short box press cigar. Lighter brown wrapper... little sucker is probably what? 3 1/2" long. But looks nice.97.5I really liked the aroma of this cigar. Some nice cocoa to go with the cedar. It just smelled great to me.95MediumMedium-FullSo far I am really enjoying this cigar. There is some great spice to it during this 1st third. Nice pepper spice on the retro, also picking up some baking spices and maybe some cinnamon. The cigar is burning perfect and holding a great ash.92.5MediumMediumThe strong pepper spice has backed off some and the cigar is becoming more smooth. The spice is still there and tingles the tongue. Still smoking great with lots of smoke, perfect burn and holding a great ash.92.5MediumMediumThe final 3rd is a good mix of spicy and creamy. The spices picked back up at the end and it was more like the 1st third but more creamy.97.5The draw was great throughout. No complaints.100The burn on this cigar was just perfect throughout.100Construction was great. Great burn line, held a strong ash, produced tons of smoke. Just a great cigar.92.5Overall this was a very good cigar for me. I really liked the peppery spice at the start and then the transition into a more balanced smoke. It kept the spice throughout which was nice. Construction wise this cigar can't be beat.45
