Age of Calamitous Profession Guide
3
Professions in Age of Calamitous are meant to be the primary way to make AoC currency (Tin Coins and their higher equivalents.) In addition, participating in the Profession system will reward the player with Guild Tokens, which are used at the Guild Vendor in the Faction Hall to buy pets, pet cosmetics, and tool upgrades. Each Profession has one pet and an upgrade for one Kronyxium tool, excluding the Pickaxe. With the exception of The Night Scavenger from the Farmers Guild, faction pets are not immune from the Elarikan Plague. However, the remaining pets get a skin that makes them immune with the level 100 feat of their guild.
4
In order to participate, players must join one of five Profession Guilds - Hunters, Moonshiners, Forestry, Farmers or Miners. The recruiters for these Guilds are in the Faction Hall. A player is only permitted to join one Profession without admin intervention.
5
Once a Guild is joined, the player gets a new line of feats under the Decorations tab. The initial feat is level 10, and follow-up feats become available at levels 30, 50, 70 and 100. With the initial feat, the player will get access to a crafting station that also serves as a resource auto-generator, all of which are detailed in the rest of this guide. A player uses resources related to that Profession to build Profession crates, which are turned in to Market Traders. There are three public Market Traders, at B-6, N-7, and J-2. A player may also purchase a Market Trader for their own base from the Dispatch Contractor in their particular faction's headquarters through the Faction Hall, which costs 2 Gold, 5 Silver and 20 Copper AoC Coins. The Interactive Map has the traders listed, check the "NPC Traders" filter on the top right.
6
When a player turns in a Profesion crate, they receive a Profession payment, tiers 1 through 4. Higher payments give more Tin Coins and Guild Tokens. The possible payout amounts for every Profession are listed in the Crate Rewards tab.
7
Every profession has at least one resource Auto-Generator. These only generate resources when they are staffed with the appropriate thrall and fueled with Tin Coins. Each auto-generator is listed in the Auto-Generators tab.
8
Hunters GuildHunters use harvested animal materials like meat, hide and heads.
9
Farmers GuildFarmers use raw and cooked food and have a lot of auto-generators for ingredients.
10
Forestry GuildForestry Guild members use wood products and herbs.
11
Miners GuildMiners use mined minerals and processed bars.
12
Moonshiners GuildMoonshiners use vanilla alcohol recipes and several AoC exclusive drinks.
13
Server Settings and Admin Options
14
The "Crafting Time Multiplier" setting in Server Settings affects the rate that all Profession items are crafted, as well as the rate at which the Market Trader processes these crates. This is quite significant for a Market Trader purchased from the Dispatch Contractor because the default rate to process one crate is 60 minutes, reduced to 30 minutes with a Haggler thrall. The public Market Trader processes a crate in 2 seconds by default.
15
Administrators can spawn several items related to the management of the Profession system. Each of the Guild recruiters in the Faction hall is available to be placed in the buildings tab, their names are Farmers Guild, etc. as shown on the right. An admin can also use Gold Tokens as shown to grant a profession to a player. This allows the admin to sell the tokens on a vendor or otherwise offer them as a reward. Additionally, the Unlock All Professions item does just as it says, unlocks the first Feat of all five Professions on the player that uses it.
