This document is intended to collect and analyse the match results for tournaments run and recorded through the Sirlin Games and Morningstar Sanctuary Yomi forums.
This is not intended to act as a match-up chart showing the theoretical/true difficulty of any specific match-ups!
This sheet is simply a convenient summary of historical tournament results - it makes no claims about how lopsided or even any match-up is in theoretical terms.
Hopefully it will provide some interesting numbers for people to dig into, such as which matchups are particularly common, and which are particularly lopsided for tournament participants.
As player information is collected in addition to character information, downloading a copy of this sheet can also serve as a player aid to identify difficult match-ups or opponents.
If you have any questions, or if you find any issues with the sheet, please contact me on the forums by using @mysticjuicer, or by sending me a private message. Thank you!
This tab summarizes the match results recorded in the Detailed Results tab.
Read the table from left to right for the character you are interested in, as shown below.
|% W L||% W L||% W L|
|Grave||5.0 7 7||5.5 16 13||3.3 12 24|
|Jaina||4.5 13 16||5.0 4 4||4.4 12 15|
Read the table by row.
In the table above, it shows that Grave has a 50% winrate against Grave, a 55% winrate against Jaina, and a 33% winrate against Midori.
Each box shows you (1) the percentage winrate out of 10, (2) the total wins recorded, (3) the total losses recorded.
In addition, you can filter the data displayed in a number of ways, using the fields at the top of the tab.
Enter a player's online name here to see only their results.
Enter a player's online name here to see only their results. You only need to use this box if you are comparing two player's head-to-head results.
Enter the name of an event to see only results from that event.
Enter a date here to see only the results that happened on or after this date.
Enter a date here to see only the results that happened on or before this date.
Select "exclude" to remove all results of events which required players to randomly select their characters.
Select "exclude" to remove all results of events which required players to play only a single character.
Select "exclude" to remove all results of events which involved a team of players playing against another team.
Select "exclude" to remove all results of events where only certain participants were allowed to enter. In other words, it was not open signup.
Select "exclude" to remove all results of events that included sets shorter than 'first to 3' or longer than 'first to 4'.
Note that if no data is displayed, it's likely because the players haven't faced off, didn't participate in the event selected, or there is a "space" entered in one of the blank looking fields.
This tab can be a starting point for improving your performance.
In which match-ups did you perform better than the overall average? In which did you perform worse?
Were your bad match-ups spread across a lot of individual opponents, or against 1 or 2 specific players?
What was your most difficult opponent's worst match-up?
This tab lists the names of all tournaments recorded in the spreadsheet, as well as their start and end dates, the tournament winner, as well as a link to the results thread.
Enter the tournament name in the 'Event' field in the Summary tab to see results only for that specific event.
Detailed Results tab
This tab collects the raw tournament match results.
If people don't change characters during their matches, the match can be summarized in a single line (as in the BBBstings vs MIDstory line below).
If one or more people change characters during the match, each unique character combination is recorded as a single line (as in the Chancey vs BBBstings lines below).
Player names are recorded to make it easier for me to make sure I'm not recording matches more than once, as well as providing some additional data for analysis.
Note: double-KOs are not recorded in this spreadsheet - I believe it would be misleading to include them, as they would look the same as when taking a win and a loss in two matches.
|Player 1||Character 1||Wins 1||Wins 2||Character 2||Player 2|
