12 | 4/14/20 | County | Retail/Services | Possible question for county legal team: It seems logical to not staff retail operations with at risk people for part of a phased return, but I worry about age discrimination. | The view of the county is that the county will be taking the risk through creating the emergency Public Health Orders for any possible age discrimination legal actions. Please follow the Public Health Orders and businesses can use those orders as the reason and requirement for age discrimination.
17 | 4/10/20 | County | All | From Betsy Holena @ Health and Human Services: Is there any valley wide information on how many people we anticipated were laid off or lost work due to COVID and its circumstances?(this is for a grant) or any idea where I could find this information? 18 | 4/8/20 | County | All | Hello everyone, I'm wondering if any one is aware of a resource for parents to use for those who don't have Internet? Some of my Spanish speaking families are struggling with teaching from home because they don't have Internet access. Has this been discussed at all? - Came from Devan Haney through IC Slack. | Leslie Nichols, Superintendent “I will continue to work tirelessly to eliminate internet access problems some families are facing. Spectrum is offering two months of free service to new new customers with students. IC Connex is offering free service in their WiFi area in the City of Gunnison. IC Connex and Xtream Internet will troubleshoot particular cases to get families access. I'm working with ViaSat and HughesNet to find solutions for our families who need satellite internet. Customers can ask CenturyLink for the best speeds they can provide. The district still has Verizon hotspots available to provide internet service to families in range of cell service.” 4/10

155 | Municipalities | Retail/Services | Delayed property and sales tax collections by several months | Gunnison and MTCB - No blanket tax deferment but leniency and planning provided case by case, Town of Crested Butte has deferred the February sales tax filing until April 20th. For County Taxes: Colorado retailers that are required to file a sales tax return and remit sales tax on April 20, 2020 may extend their filing and remittance deadline to May 20, 2020. This is a one-time extension of the April 20, 2020 filing and remittance deadline for state and state-administered sales taxes. The Department will waive penalties and interest that may accrue retailers that file their return and remit the full amount of state and state-administered sales tax due April 20, 2020 on or before May 20, 2020. However, a retailer that does not file the return and remit full payment on or before April 20, 2020 will not be able to retain their vendor/service fee. The vendor fee is a percentage of the sales tax collected that a retailer is allowed to retain in order to cover the expenses incurred by collecting and remitting state sales tax. The vendor fee is currently 4% of the sales tax remitted and is capped at $1,000 per filing period. 4/13
