This workbook calculates student-per-administrator ratios, by state, by year (with and without including staff)

It presents data (esp. from NCES CCD via ELSI) to compare states by their level of staff resources per student

School years are presented as fiscal years. For example 2013-14 is abbreviated as 2014 (e.g. fall 2022 = 2023)

The term "district" is used in place of the more formal term LEA

The data include both district administrators and school administrators

County and state administrators and their staff are NOT included in this data

The "jumpiness" of data suggest poor data quality or inconsistent definitions in many states
