We are nurses, corrections officers, childcare providers, EMTs, sanitation workers, museum workers and more. AFSCME also is the union for museum workers, with over 80 collective bargaining agreements that include museum workers which includes 21 private museums such as the Museum of Tolerance, the American Museum of Natural History, Milwaukee Public Museum, and Detroit Historical Society, the Met, and most recently at Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles. AFSCME as well has recently filed a union petitions at the Marciano Art Foundation (MAF) in Los Angeles and is currently waiting for a ULP response to union-busting tactics from MAF owners and GUESS founders, the Marciano brothers. Over Black Friday, AFSCME, together with MAF workers, led a national informational picket in over 12 states with hundreds of union and community members showing up at GUESS stores nationwide in solidarity of MAF workers and to call to light the history of worker exploitation and union busting by the Marciano family.
