Voices Alive!
Under Voices Alive! initiative, A Book a Day works to produce over 700 free posters that will be distributed in schools throughout Philadelphia. The posters promote visual literacies while uplifting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and other underrepresented creators. In addition to distributing our Voices Alive! posters, the Voices Alive! curriculum centers visual arts and literacy to elevate student and teacher voices through attentive discussion and reading, writing and listening activities.

Claymobile, Hands-on-Clay, After-School Clay Club
The Clay Studio hosts multiple programs, including Claymobile, Hands-on-Clay, community workshops, scholarships, and an After-School Clay Club. They provide access to hands-on art making as part of a holistic education and outlet for many groups throughout Philadelphia.

A Book a Day's programming engages with the community in many ways, such as highlights uplifting authors and illustrators through the Archive of Letters and Voices, donates books to Philly FIGHT which provided them to children with or at high risk of HIV/AIDS, run a summer treasure hunt of books in Free Little Libraries in West Philadelphia, and partner with PennSmiles Mobile Clinic.

A Book a Day's Biblioteca Puentes
A Book a Day partners with the healthcare nonprofit Puentes de Salud to establish a permanent on-site library of Spanish and bilingual books and donate/ distribute hardback picture books that speak to the variety of Latinx cultural identities. Children are able to select their own books, and have expressed feelings of connection to the stories and illustrations.

Mural Arts operates several locations throughout Philadelphia that offer a variety of classes taught by volunteers, neighbors, and artists, covering an array of subjects from sewing and weaving to English as a Second Language. The initiative recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship and highly skilled craft making within many of the immigrant and refugee families and thus provides a warm, inviting hub space with familiar activities that opens doors to other social service.

Backstage Pass
A free, hands-on technical theater workforce development program designed for high school students. In weekly interactive sessions, participants will explore backstage roles—from carpentry to costumes—guided by industry professionals. The program also includes networking opportunities and a special visit from Delaware Shakespeare's Community Tour, providing students with valuable skills and insights into the production process.
