We do both group and independent reading as well as a couple of field trip.

We meet from mid-October until April. In april, we have a concet with the HS Show Choir and HS Jazz band.

Photography ClubMrs. Roykoroykos@perry-lake.orgFirst and Third Tuesday of the month after school until 4:00.PMS 120Students will learn the difference between a photograph and a snapshot. They will be introduced to the subject of photography through famous artists and reasons for taking photographs such as; entertainment, to persuade, document, for art, etc. They will learn different ways to create successful photographs.

PMS PlayMs. Morganmorgann@perry-lake.orgAuditions held mid-Oct. Rehearsal schedule posted to cast/crew upon acceptance. Typically 5 days/week from mid-Nov to mid-FebPMS or Goodwin Theater or PACStudents involved in the PMS Play will be selected by audition or application only. These students will rehearse and produce the annual Middle School play.

Power of the PenMrs. Dasingerdasingera@perry-lake.org1st and 3rd Monday of the month 2:30-3:00PMS 105This is a state-wide creative writing competition where students get 45 minuutes to write a story based on a random prompt they are given. The club itself is preparation for this competition. If we win at the local level, we move onto districts and then finally the state competition.

Spelling BeeMrs. Dasingerdasingera@perry-lake.orgClassroom Bees in December, Event in JanuaryWinners for grade level bee in November/Dec will report to the Goodwin in JanuaryStudents in grades 4-8 will participate in class spelling bees in early December and the top 3 students from each grade level will then have the opportunity to participate in the school bee which will be held on January 9th. The winner of the school bee will represent Perry at the county bee in February.

Video ClubMrs. Kochkochr@perry-lake.org1st and 3rd Tuesdays 2:30 -3:30 Field TripsPMS 212Understand the basics of film theory, get familiar with software programs to create, edit and produce their own films, explore the basics of film production, learn techniques on how to shoot different video types, learn post-production needs and work on collaborative projects. Even enter competitions for cash prizes. Student drive projects
