Faf's Live2D Rigging Checklist
2
-Heyo, this is Faf, this is just a simple checklist that I made for myself to make sure I don't miss anything important when I work on rigging commissions! I figured that I'd share this since people have been asking about how I keep track of things!
3
-To use this, go to File > Make a Copy, and tick the boxes as you work on your rigging project!
4
-You can edit this to fit your workflow (like adding/removing/rearranging steps and/or ignoring the commission bits if you're doing personal rigging)!
5
-Most of these things don't need to be done in a set order, I tend to jump around a lot when working on rigging! If you're just starting out, I recommend focusing on base movements first and then adding extra details later!

PSD Check
8
Left/Right Sides Properly Named, Separated
9
Overlapping & Freely Moving Parts Separated
10
Proper Merged/Unmerged Layers
11
Shadows & Highlights Separated
12
Effects Layers Done Properly (Only Additive & Multiply, NO MASKS)
13
Front Hair (Bangs, Side Hair) Separated, Ensure Shadows match the shape of each Front Hair part (don't merge it all in one layer)
14
Mid Hair Separated
15
Back Hair Separated
16
Eye Parts Separated: Top/Side/Bottom/Extra Lashes, Pupils/Irises/Highlights, Eye Whites
17
Mouth Parts Separated: Top/Bottom Lip, Top Teeth, TongueOut, Bottom Teeth, Tongue, Inside Mouth, Bottom Lip Shading
18
Base of Face Clean (Free of Hard Shading & Unique Markings, those go on separate layers)
19
Optional: Base of Face Lineart Split from Color to hide the Chin/Neck Line on certain angles
20
Neck Separated & Drawn Tall enough (with head shadow separated into its own layer)
21
Torso Parts Separated
22
Limbs Separated: Preferably ball-joint style if high movement is involved
23
Accessories & Stickers Ideally Separated & Layered
24
Work out pricing with client: Will you be sending instructions/notes to the Artist? or will you be doing the cutting work? How much will you charge for the PSD Evaluation, Cutting Instructions, and/or Cutting Work?
25
If artist is available: Send detailed cutting notes to Artist
26
If artist is unavailable or doesn't closely follow instructions: You do the cutting work (may need to do this throughout the entire rigging job if you missed something or find out that some things don't work well with how they're drawn)

75
Send Model to client for testing & feedback (watermark if not fully paid)
76
Make adjustments based on found errors & feedback from client, repeat last step and this step until errors & adjustments have been ironed out
77
Give client a set period of time (I do 1-2 weeks) to get accustomed to their model & check for any mistakes before officially wrapping the commission up, further requests past this period may have to wait as active clients take priority.
