 Welcome to the Zero Waste Cities Certification Audit Form

In order to become a fully certified zero waste city, whether 1 star or 5, each municipality needs to be audited by MiZA accredited technicians (auditors).

This document has been created for municipalities to understand the criteria they will need to meet to become certified.

The document should be used by mentors and municipalities with their auditor during the auditing process. Evidence and data should be provided by the municipality for each of the required criteria and for every points-based criteria which they can meet.

Municipalities can use this document only for the audit or to help them map progress against the certification in the longer-term, including links to relevant evidence/data as they happen, rather than waiting for the audit.

Together with the auditor, this document will then be submitted for final verification before the municipality will be awarded their Zero Waste Certified City status.
