DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IS INDICATED IN THESE STEPS!!!

1. Enter the number of inserts (column B) and new year (column A) in WD Program.

2. Drag down the cell in column C to the next row.

3. Enter the value from the new cell in column C that you just created into the number of inserts cell (B17) in BOTH the Single Pane AND Double Pane tabs.

4. In column E of WD Program, enter the average formula (which starts =average( ) and include within the parentheses the values from Single Pane cell D16 (yellow-highlighted) and Double Pane cell D16, separated by a comma in the formula.

5. Drag down the rest of the cells in WD Program into the row you are working in.

EXPLANATION OF CHART

MMBTUs saved THIS YEAR represents

Gallons saved THIS YEAR represents vs. CUMMULATIVE Gallons saved

The number in column E uses the number in column C to calculate gallons saved

The number in column E is an average of the calculated savings for single paned windows and double paned windows for the number of inserts in Column C

The number in column D (MMBTU of Energy Saved THIS YEAR) uses the number in Column E (Gallons of Heating Oil Saved This Year) to calculate

The number in Column H (Cumulative Gallons of Heating Oil Saved) sums the cumulative gallons saved in the previous year to the gallons saved in the current year (adds Columns H from previous year to Column E in the current year)

All subsequent lines use the cumulative # of inserts, calculate gallons of fuel saved for single and double paned windows, then takes the average of those 2 calculations.

So the numbers in this column represent the amount of fuel saved in that one year based on the cumulative number of inserts in use as of that year.

Column H is showing the accumulated amount of gallons saved from one year to the next
