GENERAL LESSON PLAN FOR THIS WEEK
1. CBL Progressive Left Turn Footwork
NEW FAMILY: Separate the men from the women, and do their separate footwork first.
a. Women: Teach the pivot technique.
-- Beginning on count 5 imagine there is a piece of paper between your legs.
-- "Toe-heel, heel-toe, toe-heel"
-- "Lock the legs shut" to end the turn
b. Men: Review the CBL footwork.

2. Progressive Left Turn Hand "Bounce" and Basics
-- While the women work on their pivot turns continue to work with the men.
-- Remind the men that left turns begin on 6 (3 on-2).
-- Practice first with R-L high-hand turns. (NOTE: in this document handhold descriptions like R-L begin with follower's hand).
-- For high-hand turns, explain the "eye-drop-eye".
-- Leader brings his left hand to follower's eye level on count 3.
-- The leader coordinates a drop (or bounce) of the followers hand on count 5 as the follower steps forward.
-- Think of the hand bouncing with the movement of the followers toe forward and quickly back up on count 5 1/2.
-- Follower brings the hands about two-inches from his nose on count 6.
-- Focus on the "halo around the angel."

3. Practice Progressive Single-Hand Left Turns from Open and Closed Position

4. Combine progressive left turns with white 2 moves.
Suggested Core Combo:
BASIC RT TURN (BACK BREAK FT. WORK, >PROGRESSIVE LEFT >CBL >HE TURN/SHE TURN (PIZZA), >CBL, >Left Break Turn.

Warm Down: Ladies Timing - Mirror what you did earlier in the warm-up.

Community dance with all Circles. Ask the ladies to dance with the beginner men for their PRACTICE - if not the beginner guys will leave and feel frustrated.

Hour of Power (Full Hour) Practice time. Leave for five- 10 minutes, say you will be back. Only help "individuals" if they need it.

HAVE FUN!! MAKE YOUR STUDENTS FEEL AT HOME!
.

How to smoothly flow down his arm.

Mountain, ski slope, water flowing down mountain hill

Smile

Mermaid after every turn.

A shoulder roll. Flow with him.

Later on, you may start to add styling. All Videos for styling are referenced on McCoy.

At all levels, basics should be MASTERED first prior to adding in styling.

Emphasize posture, toes out, smiling, etc. Remember, the girls have a lot less to remember (less stress) than the guys at this critical stage.

Start the Magic-90 Music Track

Remind the Girls to "RELAX". This will calm down the Men.

Set your alarm clock to PLAY MUSIC every ten minutes.

Put name tags with blue tape on all students.

Read or pass out Weekly Party Bulletin to see where everyone will be going dancing that week / weekend, and when local events will take place.

Repeat every move at least 15-20 times.

Get out of the center and become part of the student rotation.

Talk to the girls as often as the guys

"Tell her she's Beautiful"

"Tell him, 'You're the Man!'"

Explain the Power of the Black Belt Signature Lead, called "The Blade". It is the 1st 8-Counts of a song.

The Blade is "THE" STANDARD first move of the BBS system from that point forward. .:)

Within the first 8-beats of every song, we want ALL the girls at the nightclubs to say... "OMG! That's a Black Belt Lead!!"

Encourage the students throughout the hour to exchange phone numbers to practice together outside of class

Remind students they have SEVEN days to get this.

Fundamentals will be reviewed more briefly every White Belt class

By the end of this week, student should be able to...

- CORRECTLY ask another student to dance.

- Execute the drills presented BLINDFOLDED

- Have AWESOME Posture

- Look "up with confidence" - not down.

- Repeat

- Make it look easy. .:)

- Practice during the week outside of class

- Exchange phone numbers
