Fairly negative due to a mishap where the cat he was in the process of adopting was given to another person who gave extra money

Mostly positive, avoided rescues because their application process is too intense and felt degrading.

Had good variety of purebred dogs (was from a mall, years ago) rather than just mutts

Online initially- there was no process back then- just pay money. There should definitely be some evaluation before adopting. Minimal criteria for the sake of the well-being of the dog

Way too rigorous with rescues, so she avoids them completely. Anyone can lie on these applications, and they require so much (like multiple references) that it is deterrent from adopting through them at all.

This needs to be easier and done with a different approach. Its so difficult it feels overly excessive. Meanwhile dogs and cats are dying and own home and family would-were great dog people with 20+ years experience- would be better than a cramped kennel.

Should be Breed, not "Looks Like" for first filter name. Wants to see educational page about different breeds and what to expect- but not put those expectations on individual pet descriptions as every animal is different Could be a tab on the adoption page

How to Adopt- expectations

Remove all pop-ups for donations and signing up for things removed- deterring and intrusive. They dont exactly make me feel warm and fuzzy

They seem to be more focused on getting money than adopting becuase that's the first thing you see. Their message seems to imply that not all will be saved if I dont do something

Overall postive, does not like pushy donations/newletter/join community pop-ups. They just get in the way

Not great on mobile. The requests for donations, to join their club and newslater are very negative and deterring. Caused a lot of frustrations

The tagline- Save Them All- made me feel terrible. Should be more hopeful. Invite me to be a part of saving them all. Adopting a pet is happy and the site made me feel sad about the whole thing.

Fill out a survey with what im looking for. and then be sent an email or good matches so that I can go look at them. And send new matches as new ones come in. More proactive- have a database of people wanting to adopt and their interests. Be able to stay in the database and get notified when what I'm looking for comes in. As long as they're asking appropriate questions in applications, its okay.

Bring your pets in to meet new pet, meet & greet, simple is nice, ask questions, have a trial period, not make the application feel like a test

Have the adoption process be WAY simpler. It felt like adopting a child. Feels their should be something through the government where there is a very in-depth test and evaluation to determine if you are fit to have a pet. That way it is only one time, and you have a gov-provided certification saying you are fit to have a pet. Otherwise, the adoption process if way to complicated and makes you feel like you're not good enough. Plus anyone can lie anyways,

No required references. Perhaps a required pet ownership how to video? The process needs to be easier and feel more like they want you to adopt, not that you'll never be good enough

ask if you would be interested in pet sitting/walking services- provide extra resources to ensure dog is well cared for
