All auditions will take place in West Hall 206. The 329 practice suite will be available for warming up. Please arrive at rm. 206 on time.

Rensselaer Orchestra (Arts 2300 / 1 credit):

- All students (new and returning) wishing to take Orchestra are required to audition. As there is a limited number of seats for wind and brass players, auditions for these seats may be particularly competitive. Past participation in orchestra does not guarantee a seat in a subsequent semester.

- Please prepare a short (2-3 min.) solo piece demonstrating your current ability, major & minor scales in 2-3 octaves (as is appropriate to your instrument), and the repertoire exerpts listed below. You will also be asked to sight read.

- Only students who have not previously sung in Concert Choir are required to take an audition.

All students with prior experience in Concert Choir are invited to return.

- Please prepare a short (2-3 minute) solo piece. You will also be asked to vocalize and sight read. If you would like piano accompaniment at your audition, please indicate this in the box where you list the repertoire you plan to sing.

- Please note that many ensmebles continue in the course from semester to semester. For students entering the course for the first time, I make an effort at the first class meeting to situate students in ensembles of an appropriate level, but the consitution of these ensembles is dependent on course enrollment. Students are encouraged to attempt to form ensembles that align with their interests prior to the first class meeting.
