I think he might have been Auggies friend at first, but then when he saw how much the other people treated Auggie like a wierdo and a outcast, he stopped being friends with him to stay popular. So I got the book at the library and since i couldn't read ahead i only read the beginning (except for just one chapter, but that was accidental) and now that I think about it Jillian is kind of babyish.
