Introduction to your SIP/ School Profile

The mission of Chesapeake Public Charter School is to offer each student a unique educational experience within a reflective learning community. This experience is supported by a focus on the environment, integrated arts, social and emotional learning, place-based learning and equity. Our school provides a safe, orderly, caring and joyful reflective atmosphere in which adults and students commit to ongoing learning. Our school improvement plan is framed by our commitment to a whole child approach with specific attention to developing our staff capacity to engage each student in productive learning and on our student's need for an environment in which they learn both academic and social skills. We value, strive to create and sustain a diverse environment where each member of our school family is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged, while also being heard, respected, and represented. Each CPCS student is provided with developmentally appropriate resources, supports, and interventions to foster their success while learning in a community committed to holding itself accountable for educational excellence and equity.

Progress Made During Prior Year

CPCS has increased the % of Economically Disadvantaged students within our overall student population as a response to demographic need. Even with a changing demographic, CPCS academic scores show significant progress among the ED subgroup.
