first: make a copy of this spreadsheet by clicking 'file' in the top left bar and then 'make a copy' – now you can add your own data!

how to: this UTM Builder will take your base URL and add in the appropriate UTMs based on your choices from the drop down menus.

in the UTM Builder tab, you can select your UTMs (* means required), and enter your base URL, and the full URL will be calculated and returned in the right-most column. I built this so that the required UTM parameters are always included and the optional parameters are excluded if they are left empty.
You can adjust what Sources, Mediums, Names, Terms, and Content you include in the Data Validation tab.

this helps organize your UTMs and campaigns so that you don't have a huge mess when analyzing attribution.
for instance, UTMs are case-sensitive, so if one person on your team write 'Social' for one campaign and 'social' for another, they'll look like two diferent sources.

in addition, this makes it easy to reuse UTMs from previous years.
