Estimating carbon sequestration for a forest environment is incredibly challenging. veritree provides emission estimations based on the best available academic literature and endeavours to validate these claims in the field. Current estimates are based upon averages derived from a cross-section of studies done on mangrove eco-systems in equatorial regions focusing on countries within Southeast Asia and Africa. Carbon sequestration estimates include all eco-system benefits (above ground carbon, below ground carbon, and soil carbon) and are estimated at the per tree level based on forecasted planting densities.
