Barrhaven Concert Band Certificate of Recognition$500The Barrhaven Community Concert Band has established a bursary to be awarded to a graduating student who has played in the Barrhaven Concert Band for a minimum of 3 years and exemplifies the band's values of dedication, cooperation, and hard work.

Black and White Scholarship2 x $1000The Black and White Auction Fundraiser has been designed to support students at LDHSS with respect to their athletic pursuits also known as the “Right to Play” and their postsecondary education. This bursary is awarded to a student that has shown a commitment to LDHSS through interscholastic sport, leadership and/or mentorship. Candidates have demonstrated a positive contribution throughout their high school career towards athletics and the greater LDHSS community. The Recipient has often overcome adversities and challenges throughout their high school career.

Business Acumen Award$100Awarded to a graduating student who has shown exemplary commitment to business academics
at LDHSS, and who will be pursuing post-secondary studies in business.

Cade Hustins Anti-Bullying Award$100Awarded to a graduating student who has been creative in initiating innovative strategies to enhance awareness of anti-bullying.

Canada Bangaldesh Education Trust$500Awarded to a graduating student who has financial need, community volunteering and at least B academic standing.

Compass Group Award$250Awarded to a graduating student in predominantly college level courses who has contributed positively to the school community

Dr. Mahmoud Eid Ethics Award2 x $200Awarded to a graduating student who valued, showcased and practiced integrity, ethics, and morality throughout their time at LDHSS. They demonstrated active leadership and mentorship among their peers and within the school community. The recipient must be continuing their education at the college or university level”.

EDUCARE Scholarship$2800
(divided over 3 or 4 years)		This is a one-time scholarship awarded to an LDHSS graduating student enrolled in a 3 or 4 year post secondary program in either health or education related studies. The award will be divided into 3 or 4 years depending on the students post-secondary plan. The student will be required to complete 30 hours of community service in either health or education related areas by September 1st of each post-secondary year in order to recieve the scholarship funds for the following academic year.

Wilson Lo Community Award$300Awarded to a graduating student who has volunteered in activities to enhance the development of the Barrhaven community.

Kendall Souksanh's Drumming-On Award2 x $500Awarded to a graduating student in music who has demonstrated a love of music, leadership and dedication to the music program. The recipient is co-operative, helpful, prepared, always willing to lend a hand and displays a positive attitude towards music and learning.

Kiwanis Club of Nepean Award$1,000Awarded to the graduating student who has volunteered significantly in the service industry and embodies LDHSS school spirit. We can also talk to Carol Luce as she is involved with Kiwanis Club

Krista Jensen Excellence in Art Award$200Awarded to a graduating student for excellence in Visual art as well as showing perseverance or community involvement for those in need.

LDHSS Resilience Award$500 Awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated perseverance and resiliency throughout their high school years.

LDHSS Student Council Award$200The Student Council Award is presented to a graduating student who has made a significant contribution to student council throughout his or her time at LDHSS. The award winner also embodies the true spirit of our school by being a positive role model and motivating the student body.

Lieutenant Governor Community Volunteer AwardPin and certificateAwarded to a graduating student for exemplary community contribution or outstanding achievement through volunteer activity.

Lifetouch School Contribution Award$1,380Awarded to a graduating student who has made a significant contribution to the community at LDHSS. This is a student who has touched lives. The graduate must be pursuing post secondary education through an apprenticeship, college or university.

Lions Club of Barrhaven Award$1,000Awarded to a student who has been involved in community service, and has good academic standing. The graduate must be pursuing post secondary education.

OSSTF Character Award$250 Awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated positive character in the classroom and the school community.

OSU Community Leader ScholarshipAwarded to a graduating student who played with the Ottawa South United Soccer Club. He/she has demonstrated active leadership and community involvement at LDHSS. The recipient must be continuing their education at the college or university level.

- graduates must maintain a minimum 'B' average and pursuing a post-secondary education
- they must have played, coached or refereed with OSU for the past four consecutive years (including their graduation year)
- they must demonstrate community involvement and active leadership within their school
- the award is available to both a male and female graduating student in each partner school

OYAP – Success For Life Bursary$100Bursary will be offered to a graduating student who will be continuing in the apprenticeship pathway. The bursary is intended for an OYAP student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their Co-operative Education placement and plans to continue in the trade by either apprenticeship with an employer or by entering a diploma program at college will be recognized with the OYAP “Tools of the Trade” Bursary.

OYAP – Tools of the Trade Bursary$250To recognize a graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their Workplace courses, GLN4O or Co-operative Education placements during this school year. This award is to be given to a student who is in a workplace, college or apprenticeship pathway.

OCDSB Toolbelt Award$50Awarded to a graduating student who demonstrated dedication in pursuing an apprenticeship pathway and completed a construction credit to the highest level.

Patsy Agard Citizenship Award$500Awarded to a student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in helping to build a positive school community throughout his or her time at Longfields.

Overcoming challenges outside of the classroom to become the superstar you are today. You have a clear post secondary pathway (apprenticeship, college, university, etc.)

Tairyn and Makenna Martinson Humanitarian Award$200Awarded to a graduating student who demonstrates a commitment to efforts helping children and their families in need in the Ottawa community.

Vice Principal Award of Merit2x $250Awarded to a graduating student for significant academic and personal achievement in a predominantly college level program.

Zizo Aldaqqaq Healthcare Raven Award$500Eligibility: Graduating Longfields student who intends to pursue post-secondary education towards a career in a health-care field. Students must demonstrate financial need, and priority will be given to students that are visible minorities and/or immigrants. Applicants should embody the scholarship’s values of leadership, collaboration, dedication, and most importantly, kindness.
Application: Students should submit an application with a description of any relevant employment, volunteer, and extracurricular experiences (2 pages maximum). Students must write a short (100 word maximum) statement indicating the health-care field they wish to pursue.

Canadian World Studies$100The Canadian and World Studies Student of Excellence is awarded to the graduating student who displays outstanding academic performance in a minimum of three Canadian and World Studies, Humanities and Social Science courses. In addition to being an academic role model to his/her peers, this student is also a tremendous ambassador for the Canadian and World Studies Department.

Social Sciences Award (instead of CWS Raven's Pride as per Leach)$100The Exemplary Social Sciences Student is awarded to the graduating student who displays ongoing, active engagement in Social Science courses. This student entices debate and furthers class discussions with his/her opinions, research and overall passion to the subject area.
