5 | Black and White Scholarship | 2 x $1000 | The Black and White Auction Fundraiser has been designed to support students at LDHSS with respect to their athletic pursuits also known as the “Right to Play” and their postsecondary education. This bursary is awarded to a student that has shown a commitment to LDHSS through interscholastic sport, leadership and/or mentorship. Candidates have demonstrated a positive contribution throughout their high school career towards athletics and the greater LDHSS community. 9 | Compass Group Award | $250 | Awarded to a graduating student in predominantly college level courses who has contributed positively to the school community | |||||||||||||
10 | Dr. Mahmoud Eid Ethics Award | 2 x $200 | Awarded to a graduating student who valued, showcased and practiced integrity, ethics, and morality throughout their time at LDHSS. They demonstrated active leadership and mentorship among their peers and within the school community. 11 | EDUCARE Scholarship | $2800 (divided over 3 or 4 years) | This is a one-time scholarship awarded to an LDHSS graduating student enrolled in a 3 or 4 year post secondary program in either health or education related studies. The award will be divided into 3 or 4 years depending on the students post-secondary plan. The student will be required to complete 30 hours of community service in either health or education related areas by September 1st of each post-secondary year in order to recieve the scholarship funds for the following academic year. | |||||||||||||

13 | Kendall Souksanh's Drumming-On Award | 2 x $500 | Awarded to a graduating student in music who has demonstrated a love of music, leadership and dedication to the music program. 15 | Krista Jensen Excellence in Art Award | $200 | Awarded to a graduating student for excellence in Visual art as well as showing perseverance or community involvement for those in need. | |||||||||||||
16 | LDHSS Resilience Award | $500 | Awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated perseverance and resiliency throughout their high school years. | |||||||||||||
17 | LDHSS Student Council Award | $200 | The Student Council Award is presented to a graduating student who has made a significant contribution to student council throughout his or her time at LDHSS. The award winner also embodies the true spirit of our school by being a positive role model and motivating the student body. | |||||||||||||
18 | Lieutenant Governor Community Volunteer Award | Pin and certificate | Awarded to a graduating student for exemplary community contribution or outstanding achievement through volunteer activity. | |||||||||||||
19 | Lifetouch School Contribution Award | $1,380 | Awarded to a graduating student who has made a significant contribution to the community at LDHSS. This is a student who has touched lives. The graduate must be pursuing post secondary education through an apprenticeship, college or university. | |||||||||||||
20 | Lions Club of Barrhaven Award | $1,000 | Awarded to a student who has been involved in community service, and has good academic standing. The graduate must be pursuing post secondary education. | |||||||||||||
21 | OSSTF Character Award | $250 | Awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated positive character in the classroom and the school community. | |||||||||||||
22 | OSU Community Leader Scholarship | Awarded to a graduating student who played with the Ottawa South United Soccer Club. He/she has demonstrated active leadership and community involvement at LDHSS. The recipient must be continuing their education at the college or university level. - graduates must maintain a minimum 'B' average and pursuing a post-secondary education - they must have played, coached or refereed with OSU for the past four consecutive years (including their graduation year) - they must demonstrate community involvement and active leadership within their school - the award is available to both a male and female graduating student in each partner school | ||||||||||||||
23 | OYAP – Success For Life Bursary | $100 | Bursary will be offered to a graduating student who will be continuing in the apprenticeship pathway. The bursary is intended for an OYAP student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their Co-operative Education placement and plans to continue in the trade by either apprenticeship with an employer or by entering a diploma program at college will be recognized with the OYAP “Tools of the Trade” Bursary. | |||||||||||||

32 | Zizo Aldaqqaq Healthcare Raven Award | $500 | Eligibility: Graduating Longfields student who intends to pursue post-secondary education towards a career in a health-care field. Students must demonstrate financial need, and priority will be given to students that are visible minorities and/or immigrants. Applicants should embody the scholarship’s values of leadership, collaboration, dedication, and most importantly, kindness. Application: Students should submit an application with a description of any relevant employment, volunteer, and extracurricular experiences (2 pages maximum).
