Tucson Waldorf School provides developmentally attuned content that nourishes the healthy growth of the child. Mathematics, languages, literature & history, science & geography, music, handwork, gardening, and woodwork are subjects students learn about through an experiential approach. Through each experience in the Waldorf classroom, students cultivate and expand their intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual capacities. These capacities lead them to become individuals who are rooted in their strengths while remaining open and curious to the infinite possibilities of this life.
In Waldorf education, the teacher progresses with a given group of students from first to eighth grade. Every morning teachers greet students with a handshake and make eye contact before the students enter the classroom in order to establish a connection each new day. By carrying a class through the grades, class teachers look back on all of his or her students’ previous learning experiences and build step by step on this foundation to endow his or her teaching with real unity. Primary school age children, who are very sensitive to readjustments and changes, are given the security of knowing one personality and method intimately and thoroughly.

2019-2020 calendar not posted
Castlehill Country Day School is a unique educational environment serving ages toddler through 5th grade. Our school is guided by the notion that there is no greater gift than the gift of education, but, not just any education, an excellent education in a nurturing environment. An environment where children can feel safe and secure, and loved; where they could study, but also play. The first years in a child’s development, as they mature from toddler to 5th grader, are so critical in influencing the later years in life.
Every teacher, staff and volunteer at Castlehill believes in teaching the whole child – in addition to the standard curriculum, we emphasized the importance of teaching children to appreciate the arts, cultivate a love of reading and become stewards of the environment.

Leman Oro Valley12255 N La Cañada Dr, Oro Valley, AZ 85755(520) 912-4005K-88/1/2019Classical Education is about equipping children for the future with what has been proven successful in the past. The roots of classical learning can be traced back to the age of the Greeks. The classical emphasis is built on a three-fold approach called the Trivium. The three foundational academic categories are grammar, logic and rhetoric. Most importantly, the Trivium corresponds to the three basic stages of a developing child. By following the path of development that children naturally take, Classical Education teaches “with the grain” and equips scholars to master the art of learning.
The foundational principles for the educational philosophy of Leman Academy of Excellence have been formed and established by Dr. Kevin Leman, the founder of the school, who has often dreamed of launching a school and learning environment for young people that willingly engages and embraces parents in the educational process, highlighting the parent/teacher/scholar relationship to bring out the best in each and every child.

Satori believes that to reach their full potential, students need:
a challenging curriculum
individualized learning opportunities
a respectful, nurturing community
opportunities and skills for personal responsibility
The Satori Way is a comprehensive approach to engaging children in authentic learning experiences that prepare them as lifelong learners to be successful in the real world. Our approach is based on years of hands-on experience with children, families and staff as well as a research-based foundation in philosophical and theoretical educational models.
Satori has identified 7 Principles of Instruction which reflect our core beliefs and values about education. We empower teachers as lifelong learners to describe their individual teaching practices according to these principles, by reviewing them periodically and formally articulating, in the 7 Principles of Instruction Map, how they employ these principles in the classroom, strength areas and goal-setting areas. This is a collaborative process, involving faculty and administration and is also used as a professional evaluation tool.

The 7 Principles of Instruction are identified by priority:

Community-Building
Social-Emotional Intelligence
Individualization/Differentiation
Cooperative Learning
Self-Directed Learning

8/16/19 all grades K-8
We provide excellence in education for 300+ students from diverse faiths and backgrounds. Our private, independent K-8 Episcopal school was founded in 1958.
The mission of St. Michael’s School is to foster the intellectual, physical, artistic, ethical, and spiritual development of its students, creating scholars and leaders for the 21st century.
The curriculum for Kindergarten through eighth grade focuses on rigorous academics, a deep commitment to the fine arts, spiritual growth in a pluralistic atmosphere, and athletics. Whether practicing basic composition writing, grappling with Biblical texts, embarking on group science projects in our wetlands, or navigating the Internet in search of Impressionist art, students develop critical academic, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. St. Michael’s strives to prepare students to meet an ever-changing world as caring, competent, and confident young adults.
It is our belief that learning is best explored by children who maintain a positive self-image, value joy and humor, and practice perseverance. Students who are encouraged to take risks but who are also held accountable for their actions develop both responsibility and a sense of morality. The school insists on a low student-to-faculty ratio and an attention to the development of the students as individuals and as members of the broader school community.
Kindergarten – 3rd grade – $9,740
4th – 5th grade – $9,980
