Douglascalvindouglas42@gmail.comSt. PetersburgPrivate Recreational Angler After reading the draft on Mutton Snapper I think that including mutton's in the snapper aggregate bag limit in the northern gulf counties (Sarasota county Northward) is unfair to recreational fisherman simply because mutton snappers are a rear catch this far north. I have fished the inshore and offshore waters of Sarasota, Manatee,and Pinellas county out to 40 miles for the past 20 years and I have only caught one mutton snapper. I have spoken to many for-hire captains and crew as well as fellow recreational fisherman and only a hand full have ever caught a mutton in this region. I have viewed thousands of hours of film footage via the internet and television for this region to include the middle grounds and the mutton snapper is a very rear catch. This suggest to me that they do not migrate to this region nor do we see evidence of large concentration of resident fish on the wrecks and reefs in the region. I
recommend the snapper aggregate be separated:

(Cat 1) Mutton snapper (Cat 2) Gray snapper
Cubera snapper Yellowtail snapper
Queen snapper Silk snapper
Blackfin snapper
Wenchman snapper

These two categories of snapper with it's own 10 fish bag limit for the northern Gulf region of the State is my recommendation . I think this is a fair to the recreation fisherman simply because Cat 1 snapper is rear in our region and found primarily in deep water.
Thank you for allowing the general public to voice there opinion. I hope me recommendation is taken seriously and included in the draft as Alternative 4.		1678
