Our college is in the very initial stages of this. I'm very excited to see this data being collected! A group that I am hoping begin to include in our advocacy work is our student advisors and IR departments which I think have been excluded from playing a role in this work--certainly our student advisors who can identify on the ground student need and become more empowered to include OER options as a part of their student conversation.

We're working on including a low-cost designation and a dollar amount.
We identify Zero-Textbook-Cost
sections on our online class schedule,
but we just made the decision to
remove the ability to search the
schedule for ZTC sections. The
general agreement was that the
logo identifying the ZTC sections
serves the purpose and that filtering
the schedule should not prioritize
economic factors.

University of Hawaiʻi Community Colleges and University of Hawaiʻi System
Sunny Paisunyeen@hawaii.eduBanner and STAR GPSNo
At the University of Hawaii's 10-campus system a few campuses started in 2016 by adding "Textbook Cost: $0" in our SSA Text field (notes). This past January our systemwide IT office added an attribute field "TXT0" that shows prominently when a student uses STAR GPS to register for classes. Right now some campuses are still using both notations.

Right now a student can search across campuses for "TXT0" classes, both within STAR GPS and at a system website. Take a look at http://bit.ly/UH-TXT0, currently "housed" at a UH System website. Here is my campus' data, at http://bit.ly/textbook0 .
Campuses are encouraged to count the textbook cost $0 classes, record enrollment, and estimate savings per semester.
