Often wears a Glalie-inspired helmet/mask, which, combined with his general quietness, can be rather intimidating, usually without him even realizing. | Boris grew up in and around Snowpoint City, so he grew used to living with the cold from a young age. A rather shy and awkward boy, he mostly kept to himself, prefering the company of pokemon, especially ice-types, who he felt a deeper connection with than most of his peers. Among the few friends he did manage to make was a certain girl named Candice, though they grew farther apart as time went on, and he hasn't spoken to her since she became a gym leader. In his teenage years, Boris felt rather aimless, and tried many different things - he dabbled in contests, wilderness search-and-rescue, and even tried the gym challenge for a while before he lost interest. Frustrated that nothing he did really called to him, he decided to take some time to clear his head, and spent much of a year in the frozen tundra, among the ice and the ice-types. But he found that over the years, he had grown to expect the presence of other people - his beloved pokemon were great, but while he was alone in the cold, he felt lonely, so he returned to society sooner than he had planned. This is when he heard of how widespread the strange mutations from the shattering of the Red Chain had gotten, and that Professor Rowan was looking for people to study and catalogue them, in a way remeniscent of the Pokedex project of old. Perhaps this was his calling? Boris decided to answer the call and find out. | |||||||||||||||
