N/AWeitzman Green Action, WGA, is a student group dedicated to outdoor adventures,
environmental stewardship, and community engagement within the Weitzman School of Design. We actively promote broader discussions on environmental considerations through participation in outdoor education as they relate to design as a whole. By enhancing access to outdoor activities, fostering interdisciplinary camaraderie within Weitzman, and promoting environmental stewardship, our club is committed to improving the mental and physical well-being of all students, regardless of previous outdoor experience levels.

Weitzman GardenersAndie Kennedyankenn@upenn.edu
DES-weitzmangardeners@o365lists.upenn.edu
We are currently a group of seven first-year Weitzman Landscape Architecture students beginning a new student group within Weitzman that we hope exists over the next three years and beyond.

Club activities will include learning from professionals in the fields of horticulture and gardening with experiential/recreational field trips to gardens such as Longwood, the Morris Arboretum, etc; small-scale educational guest panels within the gardening community such as Penn faculty and local experts; and hands-on programming such as gardening days and mini gardening projects. We hope to reach the greater Weitzman community through advertising and to encourage students of diverse backgrounds to participate.

We plan to build a network of partners, host regular panels with industry experts, and visit significant gardens to build our own knowledge for the purpose of designing gardens. We hope to use these skills to establish a site specific project for the Weitzman community, but recognize that this first year will be for establishing ourselves as a club, learning from others, and gathering resources.

Inclusion in DesignKelvin VuN/Ainclusionindesign@gmail.com
Inclusion in Design (IiD) aims to address various issues and opportunities that affect marginalized students and students of color at the Weitzman School of Design. Acting as a student collective, IiD strives to foster an environment in which students of color, marginalized identities, and allies can thrive at Weitzman. This includes providing a framework and safe space in which students can voice and engage difficult questions and critical discourse, working with the faculty and administration to support our shared missions of inclusion, and holding our communities accountable for advancing policies and support of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Penn Food ClubDelfina Vildosola, Shreya Bansaldelfinav@design.upenn.edu & shbansal@design.upenn.eduN/AThe group is open to all members of the Weitzman community (and the wider Penn community) with an interest in learning about food and related economic and social activities, and using food as a means to connect with others and explore and share cultures.
It aims to discuss, experience and research various modes of food production, preparation and distribution chains that influence the food industry and social dynamics. Through this initiative, we aim to learn more from colleagues and experts, understand how rural food production affects the city and learn how city planning and design can support these initiatives.
We also host community building and knowledge sharing events around specific opportunities and unmet needs. Examples of this include the Diwali Happy Hour (in partnership with StuCo) and joint sessions with other clubs (such as The Point) last year.
