| 9/16/2020 13:54:16 | We hardly knew Kiki but she left a lasting impression on as all. She was a deaf magical cat(fish)girl and that's not only beautiful but inspiring. Her first at bat was a triple and she ran right onto the third base of our hearts. Kiki will forever be in our hearts. The Kiki is dead, long live the Kiki. | Elena | Yes
| 9/16/2020 13:55:00 | I got into blaseball two days before Kiki's appearance and unfortunate demise. I'd previously known that incinerations were common, but I didn't realize how they could take someone so quickly. It was jarring to see a player so new just vanish in real time before my very eyes. Rest easy, Kiki, you will be remembered. | M.D. | Yes
| 9/16/2020 13:57:11 | Kiki was, statistically speaking, the best player in Moist Talkers history, and probably one of the greatest in Blaseball history. But Kiki, who used she/they pronouns, was so much more than statistics on a blaseball box score. Kiki may have only been around for 5 1/3 innings, and with the website on mini-siesta, only a little more than an hour of earth time, but their impact was immediate and definite. I've been with the Moist Talkers since season 4, my first in the game, and while I've seen this community rally in some pretty great ways in the past, I don't think there was anything like what was seen with the way we treated Kiki. In that singular hour, I had seen so many cohesive ideas pumped into one character, people were already drawing fan art, this community was downright excited for the addition of a new character to our lore, only to have that all ripped away from us before we really got a chance to know her. | Collin (That One Ska Son) | Yes, and I would also be willing to join the podcast for my thoughts to be recorded on air.
| 9/16/2020 13:59:43 | Kiki came to us in a very heated moment. The debts of Hodtdogfinger where being collected and players where burning left and right. But in the very limited time she was around, there was so much energy in the discord. People where throwing out ideas, other people picked them up and ran with it, creating a character that maybe was a bit much, but was just so radiant and full of energy, that you couldnt help getting excited. Kiki's appearance had led to me staying up way past 2 AM local time, and when i woke up the next day my head was brimming with ideas, about chants, gifs, backstory. Learning that she had not made it past her first game was such a blow, such a heavy dissapointment, that it took a while recover. We didnt know Kiki for long, and i dont think it was long enough to figure her out fully, but the Kiki we knew was one of Blaseballs finest already. Rest in Violence Kiki. | Jonathan | Yes
| 9/16/2020 13:59:54 | We were cheering on the Moist Talkers when it happened. The opponent batter, Moody Cookbook, burst into flames. This was the first time a debt had been collected, and we finally knew what unstable did. However, to our horror, we saw that the instability spread to Elijah Bates. Shortly after, the umpires got Elijah. In a blink of an eye, we learned and lost so much. We know what instability does, and we lost one of our most beloved players. After the game ended, a siesta was called while we and the Tigers had to absorb the losses. Blaseball is a game that grinds on, forces you to carry what happens right into the next game without a break. We thought the siesta was a kindness from the gods, allowing us time to say goodbye to Bates and hello to our new batter, Kiki Familia. The floodgates came in with ideas for the player, filling both team channels. Her name was Kiki, so we used the cat from Kiki's delivery service as inspiration. Drawing upon our water theme, she was to be a deaf catfish magical girl that were with the OSHA (or WHMIS, the canadian equivalent), with perhaps vague mob ties. Ideas kept pouring as people started to really get into this new player, and it got so overwhelming that we had to set up a google doc to collect and organize our thoughts. We had even started to get into details, like Kiki would be good at stealing signs from the other team, use lotion to keep her hands moisterized, have birds as familiars, etc. This character was already one of the most fleshed out players in the team. To be fair to the rest of our fanbase, we decided to put a pause on the creation so that others could get a chance to have some input. Only, they never did. The games started again, and we once again started to cheer on our team. We were really excited when Kiki got a triple, and for the player she might end up becoming. All of a sudden, she got incinerated. She wasn't even unstable. Just pure, dumb luck. Incredibly, profoundly unfair. Her career was cut short before we knew it. Personally, I was numb, and all the excitement and creativity I had for Kiki, I couldn't put into our other new characters. It just wasn't fair. Rest in Violence, Kiki Familia. | Cora | Yes

| 9/16/2020 14:40:40 | I think for the Moist Talkers as a group, we’re laughing more than we’re actually hurting. If last week hadn’t already happened, then maybe we’d be in a different place, but there’s a history to the Moist Talkers that influences these events. As a team now, we’ve had 6 incinerations. Three of those were early on, in s2, and only one of them is really memorable. I don’t think most current Moist Talkers fans really know about or care about Kennedy Alstott or Trevino Merritt, but all of us remember Tyler Violet. TyVi was our first real foray into a player’s character development, and was the first player on our team to get a big piece of fanart, somewhere around early s3, before being incinerated on s3 day 44. I went to bed having seen her art and her lore, and woke up to find that she had been incinerated and replaced by Ziwa Mueller, who had also had a Yummy Reaction. Back in that era, the Talkers didn’t really have any big name stars on the batting side of things, and our pitching was basically just Dot (who was as excellent then as they are still now) and Jenkins, who was another solid pitcher of note in the league. Despite all this, we’d made it to the playoffs in s2 (where we got swept by the Pies 0-3), s3 (Pies beat us, 1-3), and made it through in s4 (Tigers beat us, 3-2 and we were shamed in all 3 losses) only trading Joe Voorhees for Workman Gloom. At this point, we had established ourselves and our team – the Canada Moist Talkers struggled in batting, but had two solid pitchers and could fight their way to at least 50 wins a season, with a nailbiting finish in multiple seasons. Despite our relatively poor batting, we had beloved characters like Richmond Harrison, Ziwa Mueller and Hobbs Cain, with fantastic designs and tons of fanart. Aside from stealing Dot (with a very lucky blessing roll), we hadn’t won much in the way of blessings that boosted our team, but there was always hope that things could improve or we could get a lucky break. After s5, and with Gloom on our team for the whole season, we thought we might have a chance to get to the Finals in s6. s6 is what broke us, I think. s5 had started out rough as well, with a 1-6 record, but we’d clawed our way back to a playoff showing, but the league reshuffle had not been kind, and we kept tanking. Then, we had two heartbreaking feedback swaps, losing Richmond Harrison for Fish Summer of the Tigers, and Hobbs Cain for Alston Cerveza of the Pies (as well as Lachlan Shelton for Antonio Wallace of the Shoe Thieves). The first two were utterly brutal, and while they improved the team’s star ratings, we continued to plummet in performance for a number of games after, and team morale was in the absolute pits. The promise of Necromancy did buoy our spirits, but the promise of stars due to Blood Bath that was then postponed was also a frustration for many of our members. So when things came around to s7, I think the stakes were lower than they’d ever been for team investment. The loss of Elijah Bates was a blow, as he’d been a solid batter for the team since his Yummy Peanut, but he was never as beloved a character as Richmond or Hobbs, and his lore was still very loosely defined. Kiki Familia had basically everything for a promising Blaseball career – despite her half star in batting, she had a solid three stars in pitching/baserunning/defense, her name was incredibly evocative for design, and in her first game had hit a triple that become the winning run to end the game in shame for the Tigers. Losing Bates was rough, but our new player was promising, and we fired out some quick thoughts for design: 1. We wanted something fishlike, to keep in theme, and Kiki was a very catlike name, so we settled on a catfish 2. One of our team members was asking about deaf representation in blaseball, so we decided that Kiki would be deaf. 3. Magical Girl got tossed in as a theme, and “union representative” got rolled in at some point as well The hour delay I think was the key component for us. Due to that, we had an extra hour to grapple with what Unstable meant, deal with the fact that our very next game was also eclipse level, and try to prevent ourselves from going overboard because of the next game. I think we all expected the next game to be bad, I think we expected everyone to be in danger due to Wallace still being unstable. I don’t think anyone expected Kiki to be incinerated in the first inning. A natural incineration, which occurs in something on the order of 2% of Eclipse games. Atlast Jonbois was the player with the previous shortest ILB career, appearing in 3 games before his incineration. Kiki played just 5 1/3 innings, and in that time, managed to hit a fly out, a triple, score a winning shame run, and catch a flyout of her own. To the outside, I think the games appear far more brutal than they were to us. We were definitely stunned by the loss of 3 players, but I think the fact that Kiki was naturally incinerated immediately after appearing almost took the sting out a little bit? It was basically a freebie incineration. Wallace was a great batter, had a fun design, but was still in the “on-loan” period from the Shoe Thieves, I think. We loved him, but not in the same way that we loved Richmond or Hobbs. Bates was a classic Moist Talker, who we loved to cheer and to boo and who we never really gave the full love and support we gave to our less strong batters. Rest in Violence, Kiki. I would’ve loved to have you on our team, I would’ve loved to have watched your career develop and grow. Even in incineration, you’ve left a bright spark in a rough patch of our history. You’ll always be remembered for your 5 1/3 innings, your 0.500 Batting Average, your 1.500 SLG and your Career 2.0 OPS. In two at bats and one fielding play, you overshadowed every other former player from our team. I’m sure many seasons from now we will have forgotten many other names, but yours will always live on in Blaseball History. - Paranundrox | Paranundrox | Yes
| 9/16/2020 14:53:34 | they were a blaseball player and now they are dead. its cool. it's good actually. it is a little sad that more other non-crabs didn't get incinerated along with them, but on the balance, one incineration is better than zero incinerations. the more incinerations the better, basically. lets go crabs claws UP | A Very Loudmouthed Crab | Yes

| 9/16/2020 15:26:46 | I remember back when she was in the under leagues and still looking for odd jobs. She brought her herd of goats to my home and together they gave my lawn the cleanest mowing I've ever seen. Kiki was truly a team player. | Mr. Ben Jamin | Yes
| 9/16/2020 15:35:27 | Kiki, you are the wisest of us. You showed up, realized blaseball was a shitshow, and left. 17 | 9/16/2020 15:57:19 | Kiki was a ray of hope and amazing potential packed into a young neko witch that made a massive first impression to the Moist Talkers. We here in the Orb Corner were crushed when she was taken from us, and it was also evident in the team. It was a trial watching Morse try to pitch his way out of the game...I think there was tears in his eyes. But she will never be fogotten, hitting a triple to win us a game and give us a ray of hope under the ominous solar eclipse. Orb protect her soul... | Vanbael | Yes
| 9/16/2020 16:09:00 | To those who knew her, Kiki Familia's name will always represent talent, compassion, promise, and tragedy. Though Kiki's career may have been small, there was nothing small about her heart, her hustle, and her impact on the splort. Kiki entered the league with a splash, hitting a triple in her first at-bat and winding up with some of the best stlats in blaseball history after her untimely incineration. But Kiki was more than her stlats; for the two games we knew her, Kiki was everyone's favorite magical catfish girl, and a proud union representative who always stood up for her fellow players. Kiki's flame may have gone out the quickest, but it also burned the brightest. We are all love blaseball, and we are all love Kiki Familia.
