*Data presentation:
9
Start by presenting the overarching questions driving your research, focusing on significance and impact. Structure your presentation around specific aims or questions, each backed by rationale, hypothesis, observation, and a central question.

**Journal article presentation:
12
A strong scientific journal presentation critically evaluates research methodology, clearly articulates key findings, and places the study within its broader scientific context. Effective presentations balance technical detail with accessibility, using specific figures (or figure panels) to clarify complex data while acknowledging limitations and alternative interpretations (in other words you do not need to present ALL the panels!). The best presentations conclude by exploring practical implications and suggesting specific directions for future research, encouraging meaningful discussion about both technique and theory.
13
How should you approach each main figure:
14
1. What was the question and approach (brief/1 sentence)
15
2. What was the take home finding from the figure (brief/1 sentence)
16
3. Something you liked about the figure (eg, cool approach, thoroughness, nice concept etc - can be anything)
17
4. Something you didn't like (if anything) or a follow up question you think would be interesting
