Casey Cowerncaseycc4h@gmail.com408-722-4498Coyote Crest 4-HBeef
Greetings,
My name is Casey Cowern and I will be entering entering my freshmen year this upcoming Fall at Chico State University majoring in Animal Science. I am a active member of Coyote Crest 4-H Club and have served the honor of serving as the club's Secretary. I am currently seeking a buyer for the market steer I have been raising, feeding, training and working with for the past eight months. This is my fourth year taking on this endeavor, as i enjoyed the experience for the last three years to the extent that I wished to further success in this area. My steer, now approaching 16 months old, born and raised in Santa Clara County. I will be showing and selling an Angus Hereford steer, from a local cattle breeder. This is an excellent chance to witness the results of local agriculture and ranching, as well as help support the next generation of youth who will continue to keep the industry alive.

Hello, My name is Sarah Leal and I have been showing livestock at the fair for seven years. During this time I have raised goats, cattle, and rabbits, and have been an involved officer of the Junior Fair Board, San Martin 4-H, and the Santa Clara Section Future Farmers of America. This year I am raising my final beef project, Malibu, before I begin college at Colorado State University in August. Malibu is a Maine Anjou/Angus cross and is targeted to weigh a little over 1300 pounds by fair. Throughout the year I have not only gained knowledge on how to raise a good quality animal, but shared it as well to younger members as a beef project teen leader. In order to further continue my endeavors in the agriculture industry, I would greatly appreciate any contribution to my project. Thank you for your consideration, and I will hopefully see you at the fair!

I am raising my 4th lamb as part of Campbell FFA. I purchased the lamb with my own money and have cared for and trained him myself. The lamb has had the best quality feed and care with careful partnership with the breeder to ensure the best possible project.

I have had this turkey since it was a one day hatchling. It has had the best care and high quality organic feed. You can bid with confidence on this project!

Hello, I am Alyssa Bruno, I am 15 and a 2nd Sobrato FFA member. This is my first time participating in the Santa Clara County Fair, and I hope to participate next year but with a different animal, although I enjoyed my time caring for the rabbits. I raised 3 Californian rabbits, 2 females, 1 male and all look pretty identical. They have white fur, greyish ears and red eyes and their names are Chili, Paco and Miso, although they don't know their names and I have no way to differentiate them. I have spent numerous hours caring for the 3 of them, making sure they had space to roam around, staying cool and healthy and also making sure any other need was met. I can say without hesitation that I learned a lot from this experience, mainly responsibility and time management, because I also took on my first job this summer that consumed quite a bit of time. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

My name is Katie Boynton and I have been participating in the fair for over seven years now. Throughout these years I have raised goats, cattle, lambs, and rabbits and have been involved as an officer for San Martin 4H, Morgan Hill FFA, and the Junior Fair Board. This year my show career will be coming to an end as I head off to Montana State University studying Animal Sciences. I am bringing a market steer to the fair under San Martin 4H. My steer, Gus, is a Charolais cross and should finish out at around 1200 pounds by fair. I will also be taking a market lamb through Morgan Hill FFA. During this year, I have expanded my knowledge of the basic fundamentals of agriculture as well as raising high quality livestock for consumers. I would truly appreciate any contribution made to my projects so that I can continue with a career in agriculture. Thank you for your consideration!

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Dyer and this is my 2nd year in 4-H and my first year showing a market animal. My pig was very stubborn at first and would not walk for me. It used to stay on the fence and barrel through my legs. I was able to learn a lot this year about pigs and their needs. I also learned how to be patient and work hard to meet my goals of raising a happy, healthy pig that I could be proud of showing at Santa Clara County Fair.

Hi, I'm Saige and I am 12 years old. I will have a pig at auction (sale number 141). I really liked raising my pig and I learned a lot from the breeder and my project leader. My goal the whole time was to raise a quality product. He weighs 265. I also wanted to do well in showmanship. I worked with my pig almost everyday since March. I ended up getting 3rd place in showmanship and I also got 3rd place in market. I am very proud of my project!
