41 | 41 | Citadel on the Move | user data, posibly social media leakage | local, national and international data portals | Citadel on the Move was conceived a little over three years ago to make Open Data a reality for every city in Europe. To that end, it designed simple tools that cities could use to turn their data into mobile applications that would be of interest and relevance to their citizens and the society at large. Since its inception, the project has worked with over 120 authorities not just in Europe but also beyond its borders, helping them to become more Open Data-friendly and sharing the vision of smart city as a data city. | From an eight year old to an adult person, Citadel has helped citizens with no or very little technical background build simple, easy-to-use applications from scratch. The project has also helped authorities that were in the early stages of opening their information to the public understand the benefits of Open Data, as well as how to release this information in a way that maximises its usefulness to citizens and society at large. | N/A | |
