Please describe your academic work, extracurricular activities, and employment during high school. This can include awards and honors, athletics, employment, volunteer community service, scholarships, or other activities that were a meaningful part of your high school experience. This essay is the way the Trustees get to know you as a student and community member.
In establishing the Edwards Scholarship, Grace Edwards believed that higher education would result in better citizens and stronger communities. If you were to receive the Edwards Scholarship, how would you “pay it forward” after graduation to help your community become stronger?
You may address any other areas that might be relevant to your application. Please use this space to explain any special circumstances, such as unemployment, illness, tuition expenses, support paid on behalf of family members (example, grandparents) who are not tax dependents, etc.

National Association of Asian American Professionals Boston Chapter
$20,000 will be awarded for the 2025 Future Leaders Scholarship. The application to apply is located: 2025 NAAAP Scholarship Application
All Massachusetts high school seniors who are of Asian/Pacific Islander descent with demonstrated financial need are encouraged to apply. Candidates are evaluated on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service involvement, leadership, and financial circumstances.
Essay Prompts (250-500 words):
#1 The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in the U.S. faces a variety of challenges, both recently and historically. Select one issue that matters the most to you and explain why this issue is important for NAAAP Boston, an organization focused on developing AAPI leadership, to tackle. Please also address why this issue is important to you and if you have had direct experience in addressing this issue in your own local community.
#2 Here at NAAAP Boston, we hope to cultivate the next generation of AAPI leaders. Describe an experience that has given you the greatest opportunity to demonstrate, grow, and/or develop your leadership skills. How has that experience impacted your leadership style and/or how do you plan on further developing your leadership capacity?

Founded by the Boston Teacher Union’s Unafraid Educators in order to provide financial support for students who are not eligible to receive financial aid from the federal government due to their immigration status. It is a one-time grant made payable to the recipient's college of choice.
In order to qualify for the Unafraid Scholarship students must:
• Be undocumented (including DACA and TPS holders)
• Be a graduate of the Boston Public Schools
• There is no GPA requirement

Giving promising Boston students a second chance at college through scholarships, mentoring and career services. The Alray Scholars Program supports students who:
Graduated from a Boston public high school or a Boston charter high school, or received a GED after attending one of these schools; or graduated from the Metco program while residing in Boston
Enrolled and started a college, trade school, or vocational program after completing high school
Left their educational program (without completing) due to a range of family, personal or educational reasons
Used their time away from your educational program productively, such as being involved in a variety of community, school and work activities
