There are significant arithmatic errors in the Facilities Conditions Assessment spreadsheet, which results in an underestimation of the cost of maintaining our current facilities over the next ten years.

Seven types of expenses relating to fixed furnishings, gymnasiums, and auditoriums totaling $73 million have been erroneously zeroed out on the table that summarizes expenses for all schools.

We copied it and placed it onto the "APS Sum" tab.

The erroneous totals may have influenced the drafting of the FY 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Plan, which can be found here.

For instance, Kenmore's expenses in this category - millions of dollars in gym and seating expenses - can be found here.

The CCPTA summed up these school-level pages to produce a county-wide estimate that is more inclusive of all expenses until FY 2034. That summary can be found on the "Sum of School Pages" tab.

That tab lacks expenses for FY 2035. This is likely due to another spreadsheet error in which school-specific pages do not include FY 2035 expenses.

The "APS Sum" tab has expenses for FY 2035, but they are not broken up by school due to their absence on the school-specific pages.

Expenses relating to fixed furnishings, gymnasiums, and auditoriums for FY 2035 are completely unknown to us as they are not present on either the county-wide page nor on the school-specific pages.

(FY 2035 is not included in the current Capital Improvement Plan, which is for FY 2025-2034.)
