FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE you start editing if you want to be able to paste your position into the game!

This is required to play custom local or private online matches on www.InfiniteChess.org!

1. Make a copy of this google sheet by going to File > "Make a Copy". This will duplicate the sheet, giving you edit-access to your version.

2. For every single piece in the palette below (excluding those in the "Not Supported" section), right click the piece > Image > Add alt text to cell. Then click "Advanced options" and change the title (NOT description) of the piece to its corresponding name. For example, "pawnsB", or "queensW". B for black, W for white. The full list of compatible names are as such:

A side effect of not doing the above step, is when you go to paste the position into the game, some or all of the pieces will be missing.

3. Go to Extensions > Apps Scripts. It should open up a separate tab with some code.

4. Make sure the "sheetName" variable is the same name as the tab where you have created your position. Make sure the "cellRange" variable encapsulates the range of all your pieces or some will be chopped off. Modify the promotion ranks and gamerules to your desire!

5. Hit "Run". It will request authorization from your google account to access your spreadsheet, click "Review Permissions", select your google account. It will say "Google hasn’t verified this app", click "Advanced" and then "Go to Gamefile Script". Then allow the script to modify your spreadsheets.

After that, hitting "Run" will generate a copyable gamefile for you, which can be loaded by clicking "Paste Game" in the pause menu on www.InfiniteChess.org! To play custom online private matches, both of you must paste the gamefile BEFORE play begins. Have fun!
