Future-oriented ways of organising inspired by Permaculture

In an environment that is constantly changing, our community-based initiatives and enterprises need to be adaptive, flexible and resilient. There is no one right way to organise, but new emerging whole system approaches can help us understand and design operating systems for our organisations that are truly collaborative.

The course is for anyone considering how we design organisational structures to work in groups in a way that empowers all members to participate in shaping and making the decisions that affect them, while at the same time nurturing closer relationships and resilience.
The course is designed to help us understand complexity in our organisations. It is an inquiry into whole system approaches that can strengthen the sustainability and adaptability of our initiatives. The nature of complexity will be explored and consensus decision making as well as new approaches such as the Viable Systems Model and Sociocracy will be introduced.

This training will be of value to community leaders, hosts and facilitators wanting to build their capacity to work in more collaborative and interactive ways. The course is designed for anyone who wants to play a part in making their communities and organisations the best they can be. Cloughjordan Ecovillage offers a particularly exciting learning environment for people who want to develop integrated, whole system and collaborative approaches.

The course will be particularly suitable for managers, leaders, facilitators and hosts wishing to enhance their own practice and anyone working in community development, social enterprise and cooperative businesses. It offers an excellent opportunity to network with and build relationships with like-minded individuals. It is particularly suitable for people to attend with others they wish to collaborate with.

The ideal learning environment includes both formal and informal, work and practice, study and absorption. The process of immersion into an active, living culture of sustainability solutions, critical thinking, and systems orientation makes for not only an integrated, holistic approach to education but also a rare opportunity to see experiments in action. All that will help you to develop yourself and the people around you and will make you to EDE trainer. You will have enough intellectual instruments and tools to start or perfect your eco-village or sustainable living. For example we will work on a natural building with Straw bales, gardening in permaculture style as well as learn and collect herbs.http://smilteneiunlatvijai.blogspot.com/p/ede-2015.html13.07.2015 - 09.08.2015 And Summer 2016 (precise Dates will be released autumn 2014) 946788095

Germany14806 Bad Belzig06 days € 400 CF 23An international training course on deep communication and empathic leadership skills for actors of projects. The evolutionary change needs new leadership qualities. The zeitgeist of this time is a calling for a transformation of fear-based behaviours into participatory actions of co-empowerment, transparency, connection and flow.

The necessary social competence for this transition is made up from two ingredients: the ability to benefit from conflict and the ability to create cooperation.
Cooperative Communication is a key competence, which enables project leaders to enter into new forms of contact with themselves, people around and the environment.

In this training we experience different approaches of connected communication through tools of Nonviolent and intercultural communication, deep ecology and Forum.

We want to explore

how to get into deeper contact with ourselves and
different methods of collective intelligence to new ways of empathic leadership to reach higher quality in projects.

Participants are encouraged to communicate nonverbally, bridging cultural differences both through common physical activities and shared insights into various cultural backrounds. This activates the body and brain and increaces their capacity to respond to requirements of the modern labour market.
Companies value the effects of cooperation for their staff and management that show greater flexibility, tolerance and self-esteem. The approach is highly experiential and innovative by teaching skills that quickly create a sense of opening, greater understanding and responsiveness to social and cultural diversity plus know-how to teach them to others. Thus the course enhances the employability and improves the career prospects of the participants, including low-skilled adults, young people, students, adult- and disadvantaged learners.

The czech participants needs to take part experience in the process (they learned it "dry" from the book "The Different Drum" by Scott Peck and have some experience). They miss practice and experience in facilitating and for that we was recently invited twice to held workshops in Prague. Last time we was discussing a facilitator training, there was quite a lot of them, who were really interested in. A big problem is our facilitator fee for the czech participants. I trained already the last 2 FacTraining groups in Germany (some of them are now facilitators in "Schloss Tempelhof"). I am also Co-Founder of the European Network for CommunityBuilding. Netherlands8425ST Langedijke03€240220Through the practice of Council, we learn the balance and wisdom of the circle.
This ancient practice of sitting in a circle and speaking and listening from the heart can enrich any relationship at home, in school, in the workplace, in community.

What is Council?
Council is an ancient form and a modern practice that invokes the
experience of community, where we listen to everything -
people, place, and spirit. The roots of Council are within the
natural world, spanning all cultures and beliefs.
The core practice of Council sets a container for empathy and
honesty. It provides a way of bearing witness and of
peacemaking and helps cultivate non-hierarchical power. When in
Council we step into a timeless space and spirit moves through
us. We experience the deep connection to all life.
Council is not about fixing things and being right. It’s a means of
opening to heartfelt compassionate expression and nonjudgemental
acceptance of how and who and where people are.
Council is a teaching that brings intention, acceptance, authentic
speaking and deep listening to the centre of one’s heart, creating
the possibility for truly engaged relationship, the understanding
of community and an opening to wholeness.

What we will explore
History and cross-cultural roots
Create special time and place for the Council setting
Practising the Four Intentions of Council
Use of story from our own life; to embrace
the art of attentive listening
Various forms of Council will be practised to highlight the
numerous situations and uses Council can serve.

What you will learn
Council as personal practice and a group process
How Council enhances the work of teachers, guides or
individuals involved in service and group facilitation
To think like a circle in heart-centred awareness
A place where destiny and the present moment meet.

This training is for those who choose to actively take part in this great transition as inspired world citizens. The more we learn how we can effectively build a common future, the more value our lives will hold, for ourselves and for each other. What does leadership mean in a time where any claim on wisdom regarding the solutions no longer holds? Le Dinamiche relazionali e la Comunicazione sono temi trattati profondamente in questo percorso e che forniscono chiavi risolutive non solo per affrontare i conflitti, ma soprattutto per costruire insieme un modello di vita qualitativo e felice.http://www.damanhurwelcome.com/index.php/it/university/scuole/community-school?view=item&layout=item to be defined945571715The Italian ecovillage network - RIVE was born in December 1996 to keep in touch many heterogeneous realities of eco-villages that are scattered throughout the Italian territory, and to support the start-up of new ones. The diversity among the members of RIVE is a characteristic trait of the association, richness that inspires multiple lifestyles. In fact, many community experiences - different in philosophical and organizational approaches - belong to it, but all are aimed towards a responsible and sustainable way of life from the ecological, spiritual, socio-cultural and economic perspective, where sustainability means the attitude of a human group to meet its own needs without reducing, but improving the current environmental perspectives and that of future generations. Mission The Italian Network of Ecological Villages - RIVE :
believes that the experience of community life are real laboratories of social and educational experimentation for a better world; recognizes social equity as ethic basis of its work, based on spiritual , economic and ecological harmony; facilitates/promotes the spread of the experiences of communities and ecovillages already existing and supports newborn projects; supports and collaborates with all organizations that promote culture of peace, mutual acceptance, respect for diversity and solidarity.

Unsustainable water management is a central element of the ecological destruction all around the globe. The wrong way to treat water leads to so-called natural disasters like flooding, major fires, desertification and a declining ground water table.
The implementation of decentralized water retention landscapes offers answers: a new way to manage water, a new way for humans to live in cooperation with nature. Tamera is offering a 2- week professional education around this issue. During this seminar we will not only learn the basic principles and the concrete implementation of water retention landscapes in theory; we will clarify and deepen our knowledge by doing practical work, partly employing heavy machinery.
Included is the study of the basic ideas for creating new, decentralized life models: a new technology, ecology, spirituality, new children education and new social structures for the coexistence of human beings based on truth, mutual support and responsible participation in the whole.

It contains practical and theoretical content covering:
• The psychology of consciousness

• Diet for a calm mind
• Self-healing techniques for individuals and groups
• Yoga postures for tolerance, patience, concentration and awareness
• Breath control for a calm and focused mind
• The role of music and dance
• Theatre work
• Journalling and self-reflection
• Liberating books and questions
• Transformative goals
• Circles, rituals and group process
• Integrating values and behaviours
This course is aimed at educators, social workers, health workers, community leaders and activists who need vision, compassion and strength in their work as well as practical tools for benefitting and awakening their students, teams, members and clients.

Germany10557 Hbf Berlin06300410Communities Convergences are bioregional and thematic gatherings, where individuals, communities and networks support each other in developing a sense of community and a spirit of cooperation.
The six days of networking, exchange and collaboration are for all kinds of communities such as like: ecovillages, transition towns initiatives, permaculture projects, networks, social enterprises and other pioneers of change. Seekers of sustainable solutions are welcome.

We will be using innovative participatory methods that allow a diverse group to easily sort out topics according to interest and work on them creatively and efficiently but also in a fun and fulfilling way. They will help us to cluster around common passions and needs and practice the skills of communication and collaboration.

On our workshops we will learn:
community building tools and dynamics best suited for large scale and limited time;
speed-networking, collaboration and decision making methods and systems;
Such as: Open Space Technology, World Cafe, Lightning Talks, Flash Forums, Fish-bowl Forums, Constellation Dynamics, Networking Dynamics, Deep Ecology, Dragon Dreaming, Sociocracy, spaces for Spontaneous Self-Organization and a Free-economy market as well as many other possible tools for organizing meetings and work groups.

It also implies that a person has chosen to take responsibility for their own health and well being, rather than entirely surrender that faculty to another.June 2015

Latvia4729 Smiltene0725045The aim of the project Experiences of Sustainable Building is to carry out joint development work within adult learning in the field of natural building (Cab, Straw, Wood). The purpose is to increase the knowledge of persons about this topic and to develop their skills. to create simple shelter that are in harmony with the natural landscape, ecologically sound and are a pleasure to live in. There is something powerfully alluring in such natural buildings. Their simplicity and cost makes them accessible; their beauty and use of natural materials remind us of our ancestral right and ability to live well as part of the landscape/nature/earth. We believe this dream is possible for anyone with genuine intention, will and hard work. August 2014946788095

"What is sustainability?" the professors from the university that teach sustainability are asking us. This workshop is our practical answer to that question.
Environmental sciences are on the rise, there will be more and more requirement for competent environmentalists in the job market in the next decades.
The course we offer puts the participants in a practical position of "the lack", which is not really lack if we learn to see it as luxury. We learn to use fully all the limited resources and facilities available: water, food, nutrients, electricity, wood, tools etc.
We learn to assess and quantify all the variables of sustainable life-style that we get a chance to experience, and compare it with the average life-style in the European cities. All this in the beautiful forest in the Slovenian Istria.

We meet with the inner critic and inner coach. We express the inner fire and round up the experience by learning to be confident about our personal story. We learn to form a fellowship, to take different roles in different situations without neglecting our own call. We learn to translate our personal vision into a concrete plan and start executing it. We learn the skills of deep listening and face the excuses, thus learning to accept and keep commitments. We get ready to face the "dragon" and return home knowing we're not alone in our inner battle. Inspiring Pathways for our Planetary Future
As we change our story, we change our world.
We humans find our way by story. Our stories shape us, hold us and give meaning to our lives. Every so often it becomes clear that a prevailing story is no longer serving. Now is such a time.

If we do not create a positive, realistic picture of the future, we will not live into it.
Our modern world faces unprecedented challenges and the increasing fragility of once robust systems - social, economic, religious, political and ecological. This visibly accelerating disintegration of the story lived since the industrial revolution can feel overwhelming. Caught in this apparent helplessness, contemporary narratives of the future oscillate between blind denial and apocalyptic devastation. Neither will help us live the transformational Great Turning that is still - though maybe only just - within our grasp.

520" While the earth makes plants grow, plants create fertile soil " - is a practice that is very different to what we are used to see, grow and eat. It is a road that goes hand in hand with nature, instead of against it. It is an art, a philosophy of life, a science. In four days we will acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge that we need to begin and carry on a synergistic garden. It creates a garden from bare soil starting from the planning and design of the garden until the sowing and transplantation. It deepens the theory on the life of the soil, the environment and the relationships between plants, animals and people. The courses are designed for both beginners and for farmers who want to to deepen the synergistic issue. Horses are very powerful animals. To make sure that the horse recognizes us as a guiding force, we have to regain this power, that also lives within us.
Questions in this time will be:
What it means to give guidance?
What is real contact with another being?
What I need to learn so that a horse can trust me and be happy with me?
With a variety of practical exercises with the horses, studytime, interview rooms and dream research we approach that knowledge and power.
For young people entering into leadership, this course might provide precious insights on questions of natural authority and orientation and cooperation with animals.

explosive activity that one can study in all its aspects during this
workcamp: We stroll through the gardens and harvest, and we take a look
at the political situation of the seeds in the world: the recovery of a
decentralized self-sufficiency in food and seeds is an important aspect
for building a culture of peace. The experience of the team building the

For people working with leadership, this course might provide precious insights on questions of natural authority and orientation and cooperation with animals.

-Communication with horses
-providing orientation
-Finding confidence in these powerful animals.

Contact with horses. The beginner course is about the first approach with the horses. In blind exercises, guiding exercises and walks, we will find answers to the following questions:
How do I approach a horse? What is contact with these animals? How do I guide a horse? How can I give orientation? What is the nature of a horse and how do I come to a healthy contact with these animals?
Horses are very powerful animals. To make sure that the horse recognizes us as a guiding force, we have to regain this power, that also lives within us.
