We need to celebrate tax and what it can do to keep us all safer, healthier, greener and more connected. I really feel that public services are in a very poor state and we need to restore them to a better level. albeit over quite a few years. If there is no tangible sense that the NHS, local council services and public infrastructure is not getting better by the next election, I think Labour will be in trouble. Here in Scotland I'm already paying a lot more tax than I would in England (higher-rate tax kicks in at £43k here) which I wouldn't mind if I could see that it delivers a better public service, but I don't think it does. Starmer will need to demonstrate that tax rises actually delivers concrete results.11

But speaking of public services in general I do think it should be strongly considered that taxes should be increased for the rich.

If somehow Labour didn't do option A and there was no massive improvement it would be a let down but I'm not sure if it would sway my vote.		1

However, I could be persuaded if my local MP, Lizzi Collinge, works hard enough for the constituency to prove she's worth her place despite being a Labour member. Geraldine Smith used to get my vote years ago.1
