(A)Purpose?
14
The goal of this spreadsheet is to be the one stop shop for 90% of your 29s twinking needs -- gear lists, talent trees, quest items, etc. It will be a living document and I will do my best to continue adding updates to it as time goes on.

If something is not in this guide, check the "Resources" tab. From there you can likely find a link that directs you where you want to go. If something is missing from here you are curious about, try the Classic Twinking discord server, or xpoff.com. Or feel free to reach out to me over discord personally.

I highly encourage you to check out the "Resources" tab regardless as there's a lot of good PvP information and different perspectives in there.

(B)Why?
21
World of Warcraft Classic has a lot to it -- raiding, ranking, roleplaying -- but the most fun I have had has been fixed level PvP, also known as twinking. The three main twink brackets are 19s, 29s, and 39s. My favorite of these is 29s. 29s has more variety and is less watered down than 19s, but maintains a sturdy HP:Damage ratio that begins to trend downward as you progress into 39s through 60 PvP. In addition, the community is large enough to handle multiple guilds that can field full rosters and play against each other in competitive wargames. I think 29s is the best bracket for people who (a) Are completely new to twinking, or (b) Are bored of 19 twinking. But if you like WoW PvP at all, you're likely to be a fan of the 29s bracket.

(C)Which class?
28
Overall, I think you can't go wrong with any of the classes that play multiple roles well. For example, a Mage can carry the flag, return the flag, and is very powerful in teamfights. On the other hand, a Druid only excels at carrying the flag. Below you will find a series of tier lists: (a) New player tier list, (b) Solo queue tier list, (c) Overall tier list. I am sure there will be a lot of people who disagree with me over the order, but it is all a matter of opinion.

If you're horde, I recommend starting with a Hunter or Rogue as they're fairly inexpensive. If you're Alliance, I recommend a Mage or a Paladin. But at the end of the day, all of the classes are useful at the highest level. The most important thing is researching your class and mastering your role.

(D)Gear Lists
45
For each class, I will give a gear list for every talent specialization that I believe to be viable for Solo Q. While there are some niche, or meme specializations like 2H Enhance Shaman or Arcane Druid, for now I will just stick to the more meta builds. I fully expect some people to disagree with my choices, but overall I recommend you try things out and see what works best for you. 29s is a good bracket for exploration.

Another note is that I am going to leave out more advanced item builds. As an example, it is not uncommon for the best Shamans to maximize their intellect for team fights, but then switch into gear with higher burst damage potential for shorter fights inside the enemy's base. Other advanced item builds I will not look at are resist options. However, I will include weapon swap options, you can read more about weapon swapping below.

Weapon Swapping
52
Unlike higher level brackets, one of the best ways to generate a tactical advantage is through swapping your weapons in during battle. Unlike pieces of armor, you can switch your weapon or shield during a fight. This is most intuitive for Warriors who might want to swap from a strong 2handed weapon into a sword and shield for shield bash. However, it is also extremely powerful for classes that use mana to use an item enchanted with +22 Intellect, then once they use 360 mana they switch to a weapon with a different enchantment on it such as +30 Spell Power or +15 Agility.
