PURPOSE: To confirm that the horse demonstrates correct basics, is supple and moves freely forward in a clear rhythm with a steady tempo, accepting contact with the bit. All trot work may be ridden sitting or rising, unless stated. Halts may be through the walk.JUDGEJanice Mumford

Further Remarks: Horse has potential but horse needs greater suppleness over topline for softer connection. (Try riding a 15m circle in 1/2 stretch first at a walk then trot. Outside rein will be a little longer than the inside so you can maintain bend. Once you can ride this circle at a half stretch then step in you outside stirrup and have the horse leg yield out 2-3 steps to 18m. Establish good bend and stretch move out to 20m. You should feel the horse fill out the ouside rein. Also in a 1/2 stretch try 1/2 10m circle lets say at B and return to the track back at M. Repeat back and forth. Your goal is to telescope the neck out and make it more supple without restricting the neck.)
