The Stanford Graduate School of Education seeks outstanding applicants at any faculty rank for a social scientist or humanities scholar studying fundamental questions about the role of education in contemporary society. Over the last twenty-five years, American society has changed dramatically. We have experienced rapid demographic and geopolitical shifts, rising inequality and polarization, climate-induced disasters, and massive technological innovation. We seek applicants attempting to understand the role of education amidst these societal transformations. We welcome applicants from a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary spaces, including but not limited to anthropology, economics, education, history, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, gender studies, or STS. Research foci may include a wide range of substantive issues related to the societal changes above. The successful candidate will join a productive community of faculty who study educational phenomena from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, many of whom have interests in collaborating with colleagues across the university as well as with practitioners to understand and facilitate change. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach and advise students at the graduate level.

Some programs focus exclusively on K-12, while others are expanded to include leadership and higher education leadership broadly conceived. Would these additional job postings be helpful?
