5
ADMINISTRATIVEPolicybehavioralxAppropriate use is formalized and embraced by many parts of the school.
6
resource/infrastructureXA Formal Policy does not exist and is not comprehensive. It is generally understood that staff are to use the technology in the school but I have never seen a document that says so. There is one line in our policy manual. Basically the hardware is purchased and we are encouraged to use it. Our administration are hopeful that early adopters will lead other staff members in technological use.
7
PlanningbehavioralXOur tech plan focuses on the acquisition of computers. It does not take into account any of the programs that are going on nor does it connect with any other planning going on in the school.
8
resource/infrastructureXThe plan stays at the administrative level. Staff in general do not have access to this plan, are not informed of what's in the plan and have no input. However I have been told that there is much discussion between our administration and the district office.
9
BudgetbehavioralXOur school district has a long term evergreening program where schools receive grants every 5 years to replace computers, upgrade infrastructure, etc.
10
resource/infrastructureXApart from evergreening funds, there are budget lines dedicated to audio visual and special needs funding.
11
Administrative InformationbehavioralXAdministration systems are used by all staff to record attendance, report grades, communicate and record discipline files.
12
resource/infrastructureXAll administrative programs are available to all professional staff.
13
CURRICULARElectronic InformationbehavioralXStudents and staff use information resources regularly. We do provide traditional textbooks so we are not dependant on information resources.
14
resource/infrastructureXAccess is available to most students. Some staff are late adapters to technological resources. We have to grow in terms of depth and diversity of resources. Pockets of users and pockets of resistance.
15
AssessmentbehavioralXWe have many staff that use technology for evaluating student progress. This is not consistent across the school however.
16
resource/infrastructureX All of our reporting tools are done with technology. Data can be entered by hand but students and parents have access to their marks at anytime over the web.
17
Curricular IntegrationbehavioralXCore areas can use technology in a variety of ways but it is not necessary to use technology on a regular basis.
18
resource/infrastructureXAll core subject areas have access to technology and resources. Some areas such as Drama, Phys Ed have indicated that they lack basic tech resources such as data projectors or SMART boards.
19
Teacher UsebehavioralXStaff use technology on a daily basis to record attendance, grades and for communication. More and more staff are integrating technology in their lessons but our school is not yet technologically dependant.
20
resource/infrastructureXAll core subject areas have access to technology and resources. Some areas such as Drama, Phys Ed have indicated that they lack basic tech resources such as data projectors or SMART boards. There are 85 computers dedicated for teacher use.
21
Student UsebehavioralXStudents do use resources often but they are usually the traditional research and typing activities that do not maximize the technologies potential.
22
resource/infrastructureXMost do have good and regular access to technology. There are 52 computers in library for students to access anytime.
23
SUPPORTStakeholder InvolvementbehavioralXVery few people are involved in the planning process. "This is where we are weak."
24
resource/infrastructureXAdministration is really the only group involved.
25
Administrative SupportbehavioralXWe have a tech support person assigned to our school by our central office. However people rarely ask him for help due to his lack of interpersonal skills.
26
resource/infrastructureXTech support is there but rarely used. Our tech support person is "killing us."
27
TrainingbehavioralXAll staff participated in Google training this year.
28
resource/infrastructureXOngoing Google sessions are offered by early adopters.
29
Technical/Infrastructure SupportbehavioralXMost staff seek out formal or informal support.
30
resource/infrastructureXMentor teachers are usually the providers of support rather than the tech support staff member.
31
CONNECTIVITYLocal Area Networking (LAN)behavioralXAll schools are connected to the District's central office by our network. This has ensured that all staff have access to sophisticated resources.
32
resource/infrastructureXWe have a video conference suite within our building and our network is upgraded on a regular basis.
33
District Area Networking (WAN)behavioralXAll schools are connected to the District's central office by our network. This has ensured that all staff have access to sophisticated resources.
34
resource/infrastructureXThis network is one of the strengths of our tech infrastructure.
35
Internet AccessbehavioralXAll staff and students use the Internet extensively at one time or another.
36
resource/infrastructureXWe have Internet access in all locations and a very strong WIFI network.
37
Communication SystemsbehavioralXEmail has been an integral form of communication for some time now.
38
resource/infrastructureXAll staff and students in the district have an RDPSD Gmail/Google Account.
39
INNOVATIONNew TechnologiesbehavioralXRecent changes...Google and Powerschool.
40
resource/infrastructureXWe are gradually phasing our First Class dependency and moving everything over to Google. This has been a systematic three year process.
41
Comprehensive TechnologiesbehavioralXReadily available video conferencing (challenges with affordability).
42
resource/infrastructureXWe have the technology but need to make some next steps to maximize it's full potential.
