vineI loved vine and still think its better than ig. I'm bummed it never took over the way it should, and ig video was the last straw. So i'll begrudgingly post my videos to ig, bc thats where the people are.
3
google+1/23/2013everyone was so pumped that u could post gifs. now they bug me in my gmail forever
4
Google VoiceI had a google voice number, i think. I made some weird stuff with the fun voicemail transcription service
5
Arenathis yearArena is very good. I wish I remembered to use it more.
6
ArtStackhttp://theartstack.com/christopher-l-csometime this yearI was trying to be an "early adopter," before I realized there was really no point in it.
7
GIFBoom11/30/2012everybody was on gifboom for a minute, but it's dropped off presumably based on the popularity of instagram, snapchat, and vine (also it kinda sucked)
8
Cinemagramcinemagram was a "classy" gifboom competitor. none of my friends joined, except thorne.
9
Google +https://plus.google.com/101140719217520392655/posts1/23/2013remember when we were all so excited about G+ because you could post gifs?
10
Pinteresthttp://pinterest.com/iamchriscollins/1 year agomy friend Erin convinced me that I would like pinterest because it's a lot like delicious. I joined for a day and posted a bunch of pics of woodburl and then never came back.
11
Artsywhen something is "invite only beta" sometimes you're just excited to be included.
12
ZeegaApparently I signed up for something called "Zeega." I just got an email about it and I have no memory of signing up for such a thing.
13
MintI tried this to be better with money, but it was too much work. I still get their weekly txts about my account balance.
14
LinkedINhttp://www.linkedin.com/pub/christopher-collins/30/3b2/367I did this because it's what professional people do. I never even finished filling it out. Occasionally I'll get requests from art people I vaguely know form facebook and want to tell them not to waste their time.
15
Klout
16
Quorai think you have to sign up to look at anything on Quora. I would have forgotten I ever signed up, but i still get emails from them.
17
EvernoteI'm not very good at "organizing my thoughts." I gave up on evernote in favor of an extensive list of textedit documents saved on my desktop called "untitled"
18
FourSquarehttps://foursquare.com/user/60331012/2/2011I signed up for foursquare when I was stuck in merrilville indiana during a snowstorm. I was determined to become the mayor of the redroof inn and the denny's next door. it didn't happen.
19
Pandorahttp://www.pandora.com/profile/stations/ccolli2 years agoStopped using pandora in favor of spotify. my earliest pandora stations include: "Girl Talk Radio," "Jay Z Radio," "Joanna Newsom Radio," "Tom Waites Radio," "Neutral Milk Hotel Radio"
20
LastFMhttp://www.last.fm/user/chris_collins12/29/2008My friends were super into last FM and "scrobbling," but I was too embarassed to tell people what I listened to.
21
Delicioushttps://delicious.com/chris_collins2 years agoDelicious was my very favorite social network for a long time. Met a lot of internet friends through it. Abandoned after yahoo aquisition/redesign.
22

23
Google Buzzremember this short-lived twitter clone?
24
Myspacehttp://www.myspace.com/chris_collins/I held on to my myspace wayyyy longer than most people because I thought that facebook was super bougey
25
Yahoo Mailsigned up for yahoomail because hotmail sucks. left in favor of my college email, and then gmail, obviously.
26
Hotmailsigned up for hotmail because aol sucks. also maybe as an act of teenage independence?
27
AIMwhatanuglyhatused AIM, switched to iChat when I got a mac for school, abandoned in favor of gchat.
28
Flickrhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/chriscollins/8/9/2007I used flickr for a little while. I mostly took pictures of my shitty first apartment. then I used it to post pictures for these people that were apartment hunting but out of town. I found them on craigslist. I don't think they ended up paying me.
29
BloggerI had to make a blog for a photography class I took. I'm pretty sure it was on blogger but i can't find it any longer.
30
PhotoBuckethttp://s101.photobucket.com/user/christophercollins/profile/I guess I used this to post gifs to my myspace blog
31
ICQI wish I remembered my ICQ number
32
iTunes2004?This doesn't really count as a "social network," but when I first started college, that was right around the time that iTunes was getting popular. There was a sharing feature, and in the early days (before apple wised up) it didn't restrict how many users you could connect to. Since our entire dorm was connected to the same network, everyone's itunes was accessible (and you could download them to your own library with external software.) there was a joke that everyone's itunes library started with "!!!" and "air"
33
Deadjournalhttp://imnotjealous44.deadjournal.com/7/29/2004I had a goth ish GF at the time that convinced me to start a blog but I was never any good at "blogging" i also think that livejournal may have been invite only at the time.
34
Tripod1999My first website was a fake record label/media empire called "Anti-Studios." My friends and I would make songs and then devise intricate backstories for them. We made fake fan websites, interactive flash music videos, and created fake press by downloading and editing the source code of rollingstone.com. i could not afford or convince my parents to spring for a domain name, so I used the free redirection service "cjb.net"
35
Some defunct early multiplayer ISPI vaguely remember playing Duke Nukem 3D online over a 28.8 modem for 30 days for free.
36
3dmm.co.uk1997 ish?I was very involved in a community that made movies with this microsoft kids app called "3D movie maker." You could make movies with 3d polygonal actors, and record your own voices and sound effects. it started off as just a guestbook, and then became a BBS.
37
AOLchris11461The PC my dad bought had 30-day trials of all the internet services at the time. we tried Compuserv, prodigy, and then AOL. My dad chose my screenname. Initally we had 50hrs a month or something like that.
