This data is taken directly from WarcraftLogs (almost) daily. I take the data then so that its specific to whatever tuning was done that week.

This spreadsheet is aimed at seeing, using statistical measures, how specs stack up to one another using real Raid data.

Data is taken at 75th percentile as a good indicator of what a good player will be able to do with each spec.

A "percentile" is the indication of the strength of the parse. A 95th percentile parse means that the DPS was higher than 95% of the other parses.

"Mean" is the average damage for all parses

"Std Dev" or Standard Deviation measures how spread out the data is. The closer to 0, the closer to the mean.

Statistically, a number is considered to be within the "average range" if it is within +/- 1 standard devation from the mean.
