About this Database
With support from the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE), public health law experts from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and the Temple University Center for Public Health Law Research at the Beasley School of Law present 84 opportunities for US drug policy reform at the federal, state, and local levels.

The experts examined US drug policy using a “whole-of-government” approach that seeks to establish vertical and horizontal alignment of agencies, departments, administrations, practitioners, and others.
The opportunities defined in this interactive table provide guidance to government entities at all levels — federal, state, and local — and within four overall policy domains:
• drug policing,
• harm reduction,
• health care and
• social determinants of health.

The domains are explored and explained in six white papers. For more information please visit https://phlr.org/product/legal-path-whole-government-opioids-response.

How to Use this Database
Under the "84 Opportunities" tab of this database (at the bottom), the opportunities are listed in the A column. These domains may be filtered by three criteria:
1. Primary domain (i.e., one of the four domains above) (column B);
2. Secondary domain, a more specific policy topic within the primary domain (column C);
3. Governmental level responsible for initiating the opportunity (column D).
To filter the opportunities, select Data and then select Filter views and then Create a new temporary filter view. Now, you can click the triangle at the top of columns B, C, or D. You may then select or deselect the criteria within that column. You may layer selections.
