Climatiq's extension for Google Sheets™ provides a set of custom formulas which empower you to transform your business activity data into carbon estimated across many different business activities, e.g. travel, cloud computing or fuel consumption or to search Climatiq's emission factor database to find the right factor for your use case.
These formulas offer a simplified way for using Climatiq's carbon estimation API - to experience the full opportunities of the API, review our extensive documentation or make use of the guided Postman collection.
The add-on's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Emission Estimates
13
General EstimationsEstimate carbon emitted for a particular activity, in kgCO2e, using the available emission factors
14
Air TravelEstimate the emissions of air travel, covering direct and indirect emissions. The distance between the airports will be calculated using the great circle distance.
15
Road TravelCalculate the total estimated emissions of road travel. The distance between the locations will be calculated by considering the actual road network.
16
Rail TravelEstimate emissions of rail travel using free text query for start and destination locations. The distance between the locations will be calculated by considering the actual rail network where possible.
17
Travel by SpendCalculate travel emissions based on spend-based data in any currency by using EXIOBASE emission factors. This calculation automatically takes inflation into account.
18
FreightEstimate the emissions of intermodal freight shippings according to a GLEC-certified methodology
19
By Industry CodeStreamline your scope 3.1 estimations for purchased goods and services, and account for inflation, taxes and trade & transport margins for your spend-based emission calculations by using common industry classification codes like NACE2, UNSPSC or MCC.
20
By Activity IDStreamline your scope 3.1 estimations for purchased goods and services, and account for inflation, taxes and trade & transport margins for your spend-based emission calculations by using Climatiq's activity IDs to identify the spend group.
21
FuelEstimate the emissions of fuel combustion. The calculation also provides details on the associated scope 3, i.e. the well-to-tank emissions.
22
ElectricityPerform location- and market-based emission estimations for electricity usage. If desired, details on the upstream scope 3 emissions are also included.
23
CBAMCalculate total estimated emissions produced for a particular Combined Nomenclature (CN) code, for use with CBAM reporting.
24
25
Autopilot
26
AutopilotAutopilot is an AI-powered calculation endpoint designed to automate spend- and activity-based emission estimates. It uses a proprietary natural language processing (NLP) model paired with Climatiq’s scientific expertise to streamline complex emission calculations, making carbon insights accessible to non-experts.
27
SuggestReturn a number of autopilot suggested estimates for a particular calculation. You can adjust the number of suggestions to return. Suggestions are ordered by the most likely match first.
