8	Recognition
9	To recognize cases, find the F and R stickers. The orientations and permutations of the four F and R stickers of the corners cover all cases. The U stickers aren't checked. This can also be thought of as sort of a three sticker system. You only need to know which of the two R stickers is on the corner with two stickers. There is no need to remember the F sticker location on the double sticker corner. Or the other way around of only remembering the location of the F sticker. This may help even more with tracking and prediction. Any two adjacent sets of stickers can be used instead of always R and F. Red and blue are represented within the images of the document, but other stickers around the U layer may instead be used.

22	Opposing stickers may also be incorporated into the recognition. For example, instead of finding the FUL sticker, the opposing BUL can also determine a case.
