8/2/20148 hours Introduction of CPR for the first time and learned step by step how the perform CPR. The instructor explained that being certified to perform CPR and AED is perferable to have when volunteering and working at a hospital and/or rehab center. Then the instructor showed clips from the American Heart Association video. We practiced on the adult and child dummies/maniquins. The instructor introduced and demonstrated how to use the Automated External Defigrillator (AED) properly. Then learned how to do the Heimlich. (choking). He demonstrated properly how to perform the Heimlich on adults, children, and infants. After he demonstrated, we practiced on the infant maniquins. When the class is almost over, we took a review test on what we learned in the class and got our card that says that we can perform CPR and AED. 8 hours

8/4/20143 hours 30 minutes The director of the volunteer deparment at Casa Colina explained the hospital policies, volunteer and patient confidentially and safety, and the contract for volunteering for 6 months and 100 hours. The director showed us where each deparment of volunteers were located and gave an explanation on each department. After showing the deparments, the director explained that if a volunteer doesn't complete their 6 monthes and 100 hours, the Human Resource Department will not show proof that the volunteer did their hours their. 11 hours 30 minutes
