This budget is based on 2023 Federal Tax Information (make sure to edit the Tax Brackets/ Tax Rates for different years).

Grey cells are formula based and should only be changed if you'd like to customize them yourself.

Pick the 'Annual Budget' OR the 'Monthly Budget' (based on preference)!

 - This is this main budget sheet that you will spend the most time putting in data (blue cells only!).

 - The 'Monthly Budget' sheet has a row called "Average Total Taxes" that spreads your annual taxes evenly across all months (individual monthly taxes will vary).

The 'Federal & FICA Taxes' sheet needs some user input, but not much!

 - You must select 'Single' or 'Married' on this sheet for the correct deductible.

 - You must select 'Annual' or 'Monthly' Budget on this sheet (whichever one you used)!

 - You must select # of children on this sheet for the correct child tax credits to be applied (a negative tax owed means a tax refund).

 - You must fill in this sheets other tax rates (again, blue cells only!) if they apply to you.

 - State Income Taxes are not calculated for you in this budget and need to be manually entered in the 'State Tax' row of the Budget sheet(s).

 - The IRS website/google can help you find current federal tax brackets and tax rates. The smartasset can help show your federal AND state tax rates.

The 'Summary & Graphs' sheet only has 1 cell that needs input!

 - You only need to enter your starting bank balance at the top left of the sheet, the rest is autopopulated from the Budget Sheet you picked.
