Notes from a turtle:

The EN Standard 1515 Aluminum Extrusions are used for the main structure of the BaseBot, the length in the list is only an estimation, we recommend teams to buy extra material for buffer and further development.

For hardware, we recommend M4 T-nuts and screws to connect extrusions as the parts all have M4 clearance holes. You would need some M3 hardware for mounting the servo hubs and the pulleys on the slider. You would also need M4 countersunk screws for the assembly of the slides.

You will have to tap some of the pre-drilled holes of the extrusions, the extrusion that we based our design on has a ~3.3mm hole which is made for tapping M4 threads.

For the string system of the lift, we recommend teams to look up goBILDA’s video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRyI8FNifdA&t=882s&pp=ygUOZ29iaWxkYSBzdHJpbmc%3D We found out that by connecting the springs to the 3D print mount with a zip ties works for us as it allows us to tension the strings easily.
