Columns
9
LocationMonitoring location at which data was collected
10
SampleDateDate on which data was collected
11
SampleYearMonitoring period in which data was collected; Note - Sample year may not always match the year from the SampleDate if a location was surveyed late in the annual monitoring period (i.e. data collected in January 2018 could be included in the 2017 annual monitoring period)
12
SampleMonthMonth in which data was collected; Note - when a location was not surveyed fully in the same month, the month in which sampling began is used as the sample month
13
PeriodRefers to the sample period in which the data falls; Periods are as follows: Annual (normal annual TCRMP sampling), PeakBL (secondary TCRMP sampling to capture peak bleaching due to thermal stress), PostBL (secondary sampling as a follow up to thermal stress), SCTLD (extra sampling points taken at a subsample of TCRMP locations to monitor the progression of Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease), and WS (samples taken at a subset of TCRMP locations [Black Point, Buck Island STT, Coculus Rock, Magens Bay, Botany Bay, Savana, Flat Cay, Seahorse Cottage Shoal] during research cruises aboard the R/V Walton Smith)
14
RecorderDiver who recorded the data
15
TransectTransect number; Note - there are typically 6 transects per site, but additional transects may have been recorded
16
SubstrateIndicates the type of algae being measured
17
HeightHeight in cm of the substrate measured undisturbed perpendicular to the plane of growth

Other Notes
22
1Algae heights are measured on the same transects as those used for coral health assessments. Transects are 10 m in length and there are typically 6 per site though additional transects may have been recorded. Algae heights are measured every 50 cm along the transect line for a maximum total of 20 measurements. If no algae is present at the designated measurement interval, the interval is skipped
23
2Peyssonnelia sp (PEY) was added as a substrate category in 2014
24
3Filamentous turf algae with sediment was added as a substrate category in September 2015
25
4All measurements recorded as "encrusting Lobophora sp" (ENLOBO) prior to 2016 were changed to Peyssonnelia sp in January 2016
26
5Ramicrusta sp (RAMI) was added as a substrate category in 2017
27
6Prior to 2016, Peyssonnelia sp and CCA heights recorded as 0 or presence/absence were entered as a height of 0.1 cm (minimum measurement)
28
7Beginning September 2016, all encrusting forms of macroalgae (CALG, PEY, RAMI) are recorded as presence/absence and entered in the raw data as "1" to denote presence
