StatisticsThe statistics tab was created to keep track of the size of the lexicon as well as the frequency of letters used in various positions for mainly verbs and nouns. This is meant to help me track which syllables are the most common and to think about the less common ones.
6
VerbsThere are three types of verbs: -n, -o, and -t verbs. Each type is largely arbitrary; however, there are some patterns emerging.
7
NounsThere are three classes of nouns in Lortho: masculine, feminine, and neuter. Feminine and neuter nouns are pluralized by adding the suffix -ne. Masculine nouns have two plural markers: masculine nouns ending in -ni will add the infixe -em- to produce -nemi. All other masculine nouns will take the infix -en- to produce -eni.
8
AdjectivesAll adjectives in Lortho at their basic level are stems since they must agree in gender with the noun which they modify.
9
Agent NounsThese nouns are made with the formula mo+verb stem+gender marker. This creates the "doer" of the verb. This is not an all-inclusive formula as some verbs do not have a nominalized version.
10
AdverbsAll adverbs are easily distinguishable since they are the only words that consistently end with the consonant -r.
11
AdpositionsThere are some instances in which grammatical case will not possess the intended meaning. In light of this, a word might need the additional adposition to convey the entire meaning of a phrase.
12
InterjectionsSelf explanatory
13
InterrogativesThe interrogatives are often times used as adverbs (some adverbs of time) and as such also take on the same structure as adverbs
14
Yes NoThe words used to express yes or no, as well as how to negate a verb.
15
CasesThis tab outlines the cases used in Lortho; however, this is slightly outdated. The most current version of these cases are in the wiki (linked)
16
NumeralsThese are the cardinal numbers in Lortho from 1 to 20. This section has not been a priority (yet)
17
ConjunctionsBasic conjunctions that also serve as postpositions
18
TensesThis tab shows the different tenses that have been discovered thus far. There are still some minor kinks that need to be worked out
19
PronounsThe personal pronouns. Since Lortho is a pro-drop language, these are often omitted as they are grammatically inferred.
20
ConditionalsThis tab is severly lacking. Has not been a priority.
