Outhouse in yard. Friendly neighbors and very helpful congregation. 21Appleton City (unincorporated) (3 weeks to Shrine)Continue east on Hwy 52 for a half mile. Hwy 52 swings to the south, but continue heading east after a small dogleg onto a gravel farm road indicated to be Road 4 but changing quickly to SW1100. 20MontroseMany small east-then-north gravel roads stay close to the active rail line to La Due. After that, use Martin Vill Rd, a direct route from Montrose to Clinton that has a low-water bridge; if the river is high, this route is impassable. The alternative is to go north on SW Hwy T just before La Due to Hwy 18, which adds nearly 3 miles - making the day close to 19 miles. Old Hwy 18, aka W.
